Lover of Jesus. Happy wife. (My hubby is super fun.) Blessed Mother of three of the sweetest kiddos God ever made. Fabulous daughter (...or so they tell me). Mediocre sister... hahaha! & a pretty good Aunt and cousin. I have many acquaintances, but only a tiny handful of close friends... which is fine by me.
My favorite things to cook
Love to bake. I'm known for two very special dishes: a spinach dip that is out of this world and a chocolate cake that is the recipe I prize above all others. We recently remodeled a home and moved into it, so I'm cooking in a new kitchen. Feeling VERY blessed.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom makes great southern food and experiments with Italian cuisine as well as many other dishes. My Dad's Mom (*MomMarge)was an undisputed champ in the kitchen; everything from authentic German dishes to souffle'. My Mom's Mom made THE BEST cucumber sandwiches.
My cooking triumphs
My chocolate brownies are over-the-top delish! I make lots of baked chicken dishes... nothing too fancy or foreign. And, I just got a brand new George Foreman grill! Wahoo!! I am SO looking forward to grilling some salmon on it... and chicken with pineapple rings, and seasoned potato slices. :D
My cooking tragedies
One Thanksgiving, I took it upon myself to find the PERFECT pumpkin dessert recipe. I made about five or six different things (...and took them all over to Mom and Dad's house for family taste-testing). The best was a pumpkin cheesecake, if I remember correctly. None were too terribly tragic, but some desserts were CLEARLY better than others.
