Chef John's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
Very good! I used my homemade fat free yogurt instead of sour cream and dark chocolate chips since I had no dried fruit. My 4 year old helped me and she also loved these!

Polish Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
This was a hit! I didn't have pimentos so I omitted them and I added a can of tomato paste to thicken it up. I also used 4 green tomatoes since I am growing tomatoes and all the peppers that the recipe asked for. Oh I also used 1/4 cup red wine vinegar instead of regular. One of my kids thought it was the best thing I've ever made.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
This was awesome! I actually forgot to add the butter and used 3 cups fat free milk and 3 T. Wondra flour. I added a cooked chicken breast chopped up in with the cooked shrimp because I have older boys that eat A LOT. Everyone LOVED it. The only thing I would do different is sprinkle cheese on top.

Aush (Afghani Chili)

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
It desperately needed salt and I made my own garam masala from this site, which I had to omit the cloves (allergic) and cardamom. I also added 2 cans of garbanzo beans because I LOVE them. It was incredibly awesome!

Reuben Sandwich II

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I gave it 4 stars because it did taste good but next time I will read all the reviews first. The bread did get soggy from the dressing I put on it and next time I will use a grill pan, I tried my foreman and all the cheese melted off. Oh and I will use less kraut on everyone's except mine and my 3 yr old she picked it off and begged for more lol.

Spicy Albondigas

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This was really tasty the only thing I would do different is add 2 eggs to the meat, some of the meatballs fell apart but even my 2 1/2 yr old ate 2 bowls of it.

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
I have made this a couple times. I used tenderloins the first time then rib-eyes. I marinade the steaks overnight then broil them or grill both turn out great. I also use Gorgonzola cheese instead of blue and chopped fresh Italian parsley instead of chives. Everyone loves these steaks even the ones that hate blue cheeses.

Asparagus and Cashews

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
OMG I made this last night for dinner and everyone ate all of theirs and kept asking for more especially my picky boyfriend, even my 2 yr old kept eating more. Only thing I would change is maybe a little less oils and I used low sodium soy sauce, it's soooo delicious!! Thank you for sharing, making this again when my son gets home from college!

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
I followed this recipe as best I could except I doubled it and used sweet ground Italian sausage and cooked it on the stove all day, my crock pot died. I was hesitant to use the sugar because when I tasted it it seemed a little sweet but I tried it anyways and it turned out perfect my kids ate a ton and so did my hubby, he's even bringing a jar to his single friends house to brat. Ty Ashley!
