About this Cook
I love to try new recipes. I cook for a family of three, but also prepare meals for as many as 50 people at a time. I enjoy the challenge of finding simple recipes that give the appearance of a lot of work!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that my husband and son BOTH agree that it's worth me cooking again!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating the skin off the turkey as my grandfather carved it each Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
Successfully cooking a traditional American Christmas turkey dinner in Colombia, South America, for 48 people ... and having enough for everyone without excessive leftovers.
My cooking tragedies
A bundt cake that went overboard; then discovering the family beagle had pulled it off the oven rack and had eaten half of it before caught!

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND(r)
I've been making these for years... one of my favorites! A couple of hints - put stick of butter in pan, in oven, while preheating. Butter melts directly in pan. Then sprinkle Graham crumbs over melted butter. Saves dirtying another pan or dish! Second, my original recipe said to pour milk over everything, as last layer. I think all the other ingredients stick together better when the milk is poured on top and runs down through everything.

Leftover Pancake Breakfast Sandwich
I did a twist on this, making it with french toast, and the family loved it! We seldom have "leftover" pancakes, and I decided french toast was easier to make, along with all the other, and have it all ready at the same time. I prepared the french toast slices, put them in the toaster oven while frying the eggs, assembled it all, and everyone gobbled it up! It's been given the "thumbs up" to fix again!
