About this Cook
I'm new to cooking. Well, I have cooked simple things my whole life. Boiling water and deepfrying just about anything. I desire to take a bigger step into the cooking world. Not professionally but for the enjoyment of treating others to something wonderful. I plan to do it the good way with trial and error and my loving family will be by my side for it all.
My favorite things to cook
Breads- the process of making the non-bread machine breads is wonderful. Hands in the process. I have only tried to cook bread a few times. I'm still learning. Pastas- there is so much you can do with pasta. I love it. I hope to try all I can.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year we make a ham for christmas. Mouth water sweet ham. I can smell it before I walk into my grandparents house. The side dishes always change, which is fine with me as long as I can get my fingers on a peice of that ham.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I cooked bread. I was so worried that it wouldnt turn out right. My cousin and I were in the kitchen breathing over the recipe and being exact with all the ingredients. She was a great help to the process and the bread turned out so yummy! Just how we wanted. (If only our second try had been as good)
My cooking tragedies
I burn everything. With a oven that half works, its hard not to. But I am going to keep trying. Bread that doesnt rise, noodles that turn to mush and pan fried chicken being burned to a crisp wont stop me from trying agian!

Easy Mexican Chicken Bake
I have made this with my family before and we love it! Though we made a few changes by adding a can of diced tomatoes and chiles and we mixed the chips into the whole mix before baking it. Loved to use the spicy nacho cheese chips because it gave it a bit more spice!

Simple Sausage Casserole
I made this with a friend and her family many years ago and I loved it so much. Hot or cold. Though it is still good with normal sausage I really like to make it with spicy. Depending on the pan of course you may have to cook it longer than said.
