About this Cook
20-something school counselor
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new foods and dishes. Also getting to where I love using fresh fruits and veggies and herbs in my cooking instead of the canned variety. I just wished I had time to cook more, but school tends to take up a lot of my time :p
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Dad is my cooking hero. He learned from his mom and grandmother. My favorites from him include: chicken and sausage gumbo, deer sauce piquante, deer pot pie, steak rice & gravy, ground meat & hot dog spaghetti, and shrimp & corn soup :)
My cooking triumphs
submitting my first recipe (stuffed tomatoes)! also love creating new smoothie blends :)
My cooking tragedies
not really tragedies but lessons in learning (gotta be optimistic and willing to try!)

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls
Oh my goodness!!! These were so delicious!!! I followed the recipe exactly except I halved it (I wasn't sure I had enough flour. When they were done, they were so soft and yummy that I felt I could have eaten the whole batch. When I halved it, it made 12 nice size balls of yumminess :)

Mall Pretzels
Such a simple but delicious recipe! Easy to make and bake :) I did use all-purpose flour for the whole recipe since I didn't have any bread flour, and they still came out fine. I found they were even better the next day because they softened just a bit... YUMMY!!

Delicious recipe! I made NO changes when I made this, and they had a wonderful flavor. They are very moist and rise beautifully. Be sure not to overknead the dough. Besides becoming very brown on the bottom (which is very likely due to my pan), I definitely plan on making them again :)
