About this Cook
I am getting married this fall and I am also a University student working towards my elementary education degree. Cooking is my stress relief whether it is tortes, cheesecakes, 2am cookies, or elaborate meals. I started cooking with my mom before I was 10.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts and homebaked goodies. I also love to try new supper meals just to experience various ingredient combinations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Jello salad (Broken Glass) for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
I won over my fiance's family with my cakes and cheesecakes. One specific occassion was when my sister-in-law asked me to make a cake for her son's birthday. I made a vanilla chocolate torte for my nephew's birthday. He is a Thomas the train fanatic so I alternated the icing layers red and blue. I died coconut green and created a track to put a Thomas train on. It turned out fantastic and he loved it!
My cooking tragedies
I made a cheesecake and the power went off in the middle of bake time. When the power came back on, I tried to save my cake. I served it and it tasted great, but the center was softer than it should have been. Taste exceeds all... right?!?

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
WOW! Best tomato soup ever. My husband and I were amazed at how great this was! I made the recipe as is - although I did use Roma tomatoes and ended up doubling the amount of tomatoes called for due to their smaller size. This is now going to be our go to recipe! Thank-you so much for a great recipe!! If you are making this - do not change a thing!

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin
We don't usually eat pork, but we got a nice cut from our butchers and tried out this recipe. For how simple it is, it complements a good cut of pork really well. Keep it as is.

Warm Chicken and Mango Salad
Wow, am I ever glad I had mango chutney on hand. I ingredient searched it and this recipe popped up. I wasn't sure how it would be, but am I ever glad I tried it! Fantastic as is! Next time, though, I am going to try adding 1 tbsp extra mango chutney and see how that goes - I am a mango lover. But do try it as it is first, you'd be surprised how wonderful it is and that it needs no changes!
