Buttercup Squash Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Amazing! Simply amazing! It was easy to make. The dough was sticky, but it was not unmanageable. I did not use the caraway seed, but replaced it with pumpkin pie spice. I was nervous about putting squash in anything, but this was fantastic. The bread was the perfect density. It's great hot with some melted butter on it. *sigh* I'm in heaven!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
One of the best soups I ever had. I did everything recipe instructed me to do and I found a smooth and creamy soup. It was a delight to make and eat. My husband loved it and my kids shoveled it in. It beat my mother's recipe and that is saying a lot. This is going to become a main staple in our home. I highly HIGHLY recommend this delightful soup.

Honey Wheat Bread II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
I love this bread! Simply delicious. The only problem was the it took forever to rise (hence the 4 stars instead of 5); however, I stuck it in the oven at 225 degree F and it finally decided to start rising. Other than it is perfect. The bread is delicious and addictive. I just want more. I also love that it does not use shortening or lard. It was delicious. I highly HIGHLY recommend this recipe. Esp. to beginners. It is delicious.

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
I made this exactly as the recipes says! IT WAS WONDERFUL. I served with it some country style green beans. My children ate it and begged, BEGGED, for more. My husband loved it. It is flavorful and the chop is tender. I would recommend it.

Acorn Squash Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
This is an awesome recipe. I HATE squash, but this converted me. It's not sweet, but savory. That's what I look for in a soup. Instead of onion, I used leeks. I did not use the dill weed as I am not a fan of dill. I used 1 tsp. of Curry as I thought it would enhance the savoriness to the dish. I served it with a piece of buttered bread. My kids ate it and loved it. It's worth a try. It's rich, creamy and out-of-this-world good.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
I seriously had my doubts about this one, but wow, I am glad I was wrong. They were crispy and brown. The only reason I gave this recipe 4 stars instead of four is that I cooked it for less time. I popped them in for 15 minutes. The leftovers are not so good so be sure to savor them when they are hot.

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
Um...this was good bread. I used pecans as I didn't have walnuts. For the first loaf I did precisely as the recipe said and it baked up quite nicely. The second loaf I made a brown sugar and cinnamon crumble topping to make it more like a dessert. This is a good recipe to have children help. The only complaint I have is more that I am not a huge fan of the texture, but a little bit of butter slathered on the a slice made up for it. It made the house smell fantastic. It really got me amped up for Fall.

Fiesta Stuffed Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
WOW! I mean WOW! Turkey burgers are usually not that moist and not that appetizing; however this is sooo good. The flavor is really interesting. The cilantro really adds a fresh flavor. The cheese keeps it super moist. My kids hate meat, but they loves this meal. The cumin makes it zippy. This is becoming a weekly meal. It's also super easy to make.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This is a fantastic recipe. I quadrupled the recipe also and I added about a teaspoon of vanilla extract to one half of the batch to add a little something different. It is great to freeze so make a whole bunch and save it for the weather. We like to mix our oatmeal with applesauce to sweeten it instead of brown sugar or maple syrup.
