Been cooking (off and on) for about 20 yrs. Since having kids (15 yrs ago) mostly quick and easy meals..plenty of frozen stuff. Now with new remodeled kitchen in my gorgeous Tuscan style I am hoping to cook from scratch more and more. So I consider myself a decent cook, but not quite an expert ;)
My favorite things to cook
Italian, Italian and Italian!!!
Mostly casseroles and the like. Chicken, beef and fish. Simple rather than 'gourmet' ingredients (the kids...)
My favorite family cooking traditions
None, unfortunately, my mom wasn't a very good cook. But my grandmother (who passed 20 yrs ago, was a great cook...I was just too young to get her recipes)
My cooking triumphs
Italian dishes, e.g., Caesar salad dressing, meatballs, spaghetti sauce, so far. Not bad at brisket and Jewish apple cake.....
My cooking tragedies
A chocolate cake YEARS ago that never seemed to harden enough for me to put icing on it. So, I threw the mush ball of icing cake in the trash!!
