About this Cook
I am a newlywed and I just relocated to California to be with my husband Kyle. We love the west coast! I grew up in the kitchen with my mom and grandma and love to try new recipes and perfect the classics. We have a black cat named Bruce!
My favorite things to cook
I really love to bake but I am learning to love cooking just as much. I think cookies will always be my favorite though.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At Christmas time my mom and I bake 25-30 different kinds of treats and pass them out to neighbors, friends, and families. It takes about 2 days with both of us working non stop but it's worth the time when people rave about all the different sweets!
My cooking triumphs
I just started baking bread and since I don't have a stand mixer or a bread machine it was a feat for me. Now that I have the hang of it, it's so easy and people are always impressed!
My cooking tragedies
I make things all the time that my husband or I don't care for that much, but it's all a part of learning!

Outrageous Warm Chicken Nacho Dip
Sooo delicious and easy. Added the black beans in the beginning and had no problems.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Very dense and flavorful. I like my cornbread dense and sweet and this fit the bill. I couldn't stop snacking on it. So easy too!!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
Delicious, moist and perfectly spiced. I have also made with half brown and half white sugar and that is equally good. Sometimes I also sub half whole wheat flour which also works great. Perfect recipe, as is! I also usually make in two 9 by 5 loaf pans and bake for about an hour!
