These brownies are very good, but I only gave 4 stars because I made some alterations to the recipe to get a taste/texture that I prefer. First, I only had unsalted butter, so I increased the amount of salt to 1 1/4 tsps. Second, rather than using unsweetened chocolate, I used 4 squares bittersweet and 2 squares semi sweet - and cut back the amount of sugar by two-three tbsp. And third, I only used two eggs instead of four because in my experience too many eggs gives brownies a more cake like consistency and I prefer the chewy, fudgy ones. I also omitted the nuts - and altogether I found that these brownies produced the PERFECT bar.
