Grilled 'Fusion' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
This was excellent. Very flavourful but not too spicy. Living in a small town I didn't think I would find the spice required, but was pleasntly surprised that they stocked it. We had it with BBQ aspargus and mashed potatoes. It was delicious.

Cipate Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I used this recipe and used the "Tourtiere spices " recipe on this site for the seasoning. I made a pie crust and cooked in an iron pot. Just like my friend Nelly from Quebec. In QUebec they make this for Christmas eve, but it is a wonderful hearty dish for the winter. The long cooking time makes it perfect.

This was very tasty I made it tonight. I added 1 minced garlic clove while sauteing the mushrooms. We just put salt and pepper on the fish and basted with olive oil and BBQed. Everyone loved it, it could have come from a restaurant. Defintely converting to fish lover.

Oh my that was delicious and I don't even really like red meat. My mom broke up the meat 1 hour before, and then couldn't stop eating it! I too added a clove of garlic. We sauteed some onions for the sandwhich as well.

Yummy. I used saffron with the rice and cooked the veggies seperately and mixed at the end. I had never heard of dirty rice but this recipe had my kids cleaning their plates!

This was just what I was looking for I combined it with the Cipate Pie which is the way they make it on the south shore of Quebec. I did add the allspice as well. I soaked my meat & potatoes in theses spices which chicken broth overnight. The smell as it cooked was mouth watering.

Hot and Sour Tofu Soup (Suan La Dofu Tang)

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
I couldn't buy rice vinegar so I used white wine vinegar. I used a savory cabbage, which was perfect. Of course I adjusted to my tastes, but it is delightful. I made it for my mom who is sick on Mothers Day. I have a feeling with the vinegar, tofu and broth she will be feeling better soon.
