Toasted Pecans

These are so great! They were barely out of the oven and I had eaten a double handful. I did save enough to give as a hostess gift along with some praline coffee. I agree with other reviews that they may not need to be cooked for a whole hour..mine were plenty done in about 40 minutes. I look forward to making these every holiday season!

Uncooked Banana Pudding

This is the perfect recipe when you need something quick and delicious! I made it for a friend when she had a baby, and she said it was the perfect thing for her to eat when beginning to nurse. This will be a regular in my home!

Holiday Dressing

This is now my official dressing recipe! I was unsure of the sausage at first, but I found it adds flavor and interest without taking over the dish. The fresh parsley and green pepper are wonderful. I found it a little easier to use the bagged cornbread and bread dressings mixed together. My six year old said I was the best cook ever and asked me to send this dressing in his school lunch! Great recipe!

Praline Sweet Potatoes

PERFECTION! I made this for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I was never big on sweet potatoes, but I tried this recipe for the sake of my family. I was glad I did, now it is a favorite of my own! In fact, we were eating the leftover portions for breakfast this morning! I used eggnog in place of the cream which was great, and used pure cane sugar instead of white sugar. I have also prepared it using left over candied yams. This will be a regular in my house! Thanks so much!

Turkey in a Bag

Love this! I will never prepare a turkey another way! When I pulled the turkey out of the oven, it looked like the turkeys on the covers of home magazines! Perfectly golden, and even the white meat was moist and tender. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, it will be in my favorites file!

Wine Jelly

What a fantastic idea! I have friends who enjoy wine and they really loved this as a gift this year. I used a white merlot which was beautiful in appearance and retains its flavor perfectly. I serve it with crackers and cream cheese. I can't wait to try different wines! Thanks for sharing this one.

Coconut Cake III

I have been trying coconut cake recipes every Christmas for years, and this one was my favorite. I'll never look again! I used a white cake mix which I thought looked pretty, and I also used cream of coconut instead of the vegetable oil. I like to put a little cream of coconut in the frosting, too, just for extra flavor. Let me tell you, my mother-in-law is the Christmas Cake Queen of all time, but this coconut cake was consumed in no time even with her cakes around! I was very pleased! I plan to make this at Easter and whenever I have an occasion for a cake. Thanks for a terrific recipe that reminds me so much of my grandmother's!!!

Baked Fake Steak with Gravy

This is a great recipe! These patties are so tender and flavorful, I was really surprised at the light texture. My kids and my husband loved them over egg noodles! It will be a regular in my kitchen.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Without a doubt the easiest and tastiest cheesecake I have ever made! The double layer effect is nice and the pumpkin flavor is mild. I followed the recipe exactly as written and the result was a creamy textured and delicious dish. Got lots of compliments on this one, it's a keeper! Ammended 11/2005...Cutting back on sugar this year, I made this recipe with 1/2 cup of Splenda baking sweetener, it is a mix of sugar and Splenda. It is just as good and the texture was not changed at all. I'm happy to have this recipe to satisfy my sweet tooth during the holidays without having the dreaded sugar crash!!!

Best Spinach Dip Ever

This is consistently good! Easy to make and carry to gatherings. It's a regular for us. Served it in a King Hawaiin bread bowl this year along with additional crackers and vegetables, and it was great!

Fiesta Stuffed Peppers

I love this recipe! My husband and kids love it, too. I pre-cooked the meat, then rubbed the peppers with olive oil and baked them for 30 minutes before filling. We melted some pepper jack cheese on the top...sooo good! This is surely a keeper for us. Thanks!

Alaskan Salmon Chowder

WOW!!! This is the best! My husband (who is not a chowder lover) ate two servings, as did my 2 year old! I think oysters could be substituted to make a wonderful oyster stew. What a rich nice flavor. MMMMM!

Black Bean and Corn Salad II

This is great! I also added a little sugar, not enough to make it sweet, but just to take the tart out. It is best made a day ahead, I think. The flavors are too overwhelming when it is first put together. Perfect with tacos or spanish rice! Thanks so much.

Quick Chicken Enchiladas

This recipe is so good...I used red enchilada sauce mixed with the cheese soup to pour over the top to add more flavor. I also doubled the recipe for company and it made a nice presentation with the olives on top! This is a keeper for sure!

Lemon Ice-Box Cake II

Without a doubt, it is the lovely texture of the filling and icing that makes this cake hard to resist! I used the regular filling inside and the whipped cream version on the outside...there was a ton of icing, so next time I will probably use more lemon filling before mixing in the remainder with the whipped cream. Such a lovely cake, I can't wait to serve it up to the in-laws!!! Thanks!
