About this Cook
I'm a total artist and will take applause any place I can get them! Cooking is something my family has done for generations, and my boyfriend's mother, who happens to be one of my very best friends has really ignited my interest in it. She shares the same passion I have in the kitchen and we are constantly sharing food, recipes, dinners, and classes together. Food isn't just a meal for me, it's a means to express myself and my feelings.
My favorite things to cook
Comfort food! I love creamy, slow cooked, fall apart, melt in your mouth (but not too caloric and fattening!) foods! Among every other food genere out there!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spetzels and dumplings are my grandmother's tradition. She served them at her restaurant and I serve them at my table. Although I think I'm starting a new thing with paella!
My cooking triumphs
Paella for sure! It's traditional and sooooo tasty! Worth all the prep work and time spent! Also, pork tenderloin crustini's. WONDERFUL appetizer but you gotta serve it right from the oven while hot!
My cooking tragedies
My first time making pork tenderloin, I did not know there were two per package. Some how they stayed really well stuck together as I slathered "them" in evoo, seasoned 'em up rubbing it in well, stuck it on a pan and 30 or so minutes later, it was raw in the middle. Lovely. I laugh about it still with my mom and dad and my boyfriend's mother who is a caterer!

Real Homemade Bagels
I bake all of our bread and I've tried many different kinds. I've never made bagels before, but felt confident that I could be successful. The dough is flavorless, needs to be a little sweeter I think?? I suppose I could add herbs and such to the dough to enhance it? Also, as in other reviews I felt the dough was SUPER dry and impossible to knead with the recommended amount of flour to liquid. I used over 1/4 cup more water, as well as more oil. They plumped up well, felt sturdy, were the right texture I want and cooked quick. My oven smoked a TON while baking though. I put sesame seeds on the bottoms of all of them, topped some with parmesan and garlic and some with cheddar, and some I loaded with everything I had. I say 2 stars as this will make a great starter recipe to base off of, but definitely needs tweaking.
