Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2015
I cannot believe how GREAT this stew came out!!! This is my second time making it, I used another recipe and it didn't come out right, but THIS one is a hit. I too thought the stew would be a little bland due to the lack of seasonings, so I added garlic powder and pepper (no I didn't measure) while the meat was browning, followed the recipe until the end. I still thought it lacked flavor so I added salt...DO NOT DO THIS FOR IT WILL BE TOO SALTY. I had to add low sodium chicken broth to cut back some of the salt...did it work? A little. However, the end result is what mattered because my 5 and 2 year old ate it. Even my critical mother loved it (even with the salt). Thank you sooooo much for sharing this recipe. This is a keeper and I will be making this again (with no added salt).

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
So I started making this last night and it came out tender and perfect. I haven't read too many reviews about what others have done to their meat, but I seasoned mine because cooking with just soup seemed a bit plain and tasteless. So I poked a few holes and stuffed slices of garlic in them, used garlic powder and Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb (you can tell I love garlic, huh), pepper and onion powder. Seared on all sides to lock in flavor, then followed the recipe. I have to say, it came out great and I got my stamp of approval from my girls. I will be making this again. Thank you for such an easy and delicious recipe.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
This recipe was tasty, as long as you add your own flavor since not everyone likes the same thing. I too thought the breadcrumbs left over was waaaaaaaaayy too much, even for 6 pieces of chicken, I had to scrape some off before serving to my kids. So here's what I did for the oil and garlic mix: for every 3 pieces, I used 2 tablespoons of oil and 1 clove (equaling 4 tablespoons of oil and 2 cloves of garlic), it was enough then. I also added garlic powder, savory seasoning and paprika for a little more flavor. I gave this 5 stars because after you put your own spin on it, it will be a hit, as it was with my picky 4 and 2 yr old.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
I made this tonight and the lemon rind was apart of the seasoning which is something I personally did not expect or want because it gave my fish a bitter taste, so it didn't turn out as good as I hoped. I gave this dish 4 stars because I can see (taste) the potential. The next time I make this, I will be sure to cut the rind completely off first or just use fresh lemon juice. I should have known better, but I followed the recipe to see what kind of difference it made. It was edible enough for me and my daughter to eat, and to me that's all that counts, but I will make the proper adjustments to rid the fish of bitterness. As far as the seasonings, it's basic, but you adjust according to your taste. Hope this helps =^)

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
I made this tonight for tomorrow's dinner, but I found it also a little bland as some have said because I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out following the recipe. I understand that everyone has their specific tastes and if you want flavorful meat, you have to add your own spices, so along with the onions, I added a tiny bit more salt, pepper, montreal steak seasoning, garlic and onion powder to the beef broth, stuck it back in the oven at 325 for 45 mins more, and I say it's pretty tasty now (at least to me). Hope my family enjoys it, but I will def make again with all the seasonings from the beginning to see if that makes a difference. And yes it is VERY tender. Happy cooking!!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Ok, so I just took my meatloaf out of the oven and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised...especially with adding milk. I have made some modifications and want to share them with you. First, I had about 2 lbs of meat, so I seasoned that with pepper (no salt), garlic powder and adobo (to my family's taste). In addition to the onion, I chopped up a piece of green pepper, and instead of 1 cup of milk, I used 3/4 cups from what another cook mentioned and a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce in the meat (that makes a difference). Although the taste is great and very very very moist, it still came out a little mushy. I'll be sure to use only 1/2 cup of milk. My family has not tried this yet, but I'm sure they will love this. I rated this 5 because I know the next time I make this it will be perfect. SO EXCITED!!! Thanks for the recipe and happy cooking.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
I made this dish a few days ago and it was a hit with my family. As per another rate, it tastes even better the next day. I was a little sceptical about using sour cream, but to my surprise, it added a tasty flavor. Good call!! I love sausage so I added the sweet italian sausage to the meat along w/ a few good spices and 1 cup of ricotta cheese (we love cheese). It came out great and I'll be sure to make this again.

Holiday Wild Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
This is a quick and easy recipe. Different from the normal white rice. The red peppers not only added a little color, but also more flavor. Mine came out a little gummy, but next time I'll reduce the amount of water because once cooked, the onions add their own water. I paired this with the salmon and broccoli. Overall, I like it and now the real test is my family...crossing fingers.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I made this recipe last week and my family loved it!!!! It didn't even make it through the night for leftovers. If you are looking for something different than your average lasagna dish, this is it. The only thing I would change is adding 1 more chicken and 1 more cup of ricotta cheese...we LOOOOOVE cheese. I also used hickory smoked mozzarella for a different taste. It worked. Other than that, everything was perfect. This is amust have recipe. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
