Petits Fours

It was so so, not a recipe I would repeat; not a winner in my book. The cake was too heavy and had no favor.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I find that if you do NOT modify this recipe it is a WASHOUT! My husband liked it, that is liked NOT loved. I did not care for it. It tasted like custard pie and looked NOTHING like the picture posted. I did cut the recipe in half and hand mixed everything, so maybe that was the mistake.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
I did NOT have to do anything to this recipe! I made it for my Belgian husband for his B-Day and he absolutely LOVED IT!!! He is not that fond of American food, but this was a winner with him and I. I would recommend doing the recipe to the letter and not adjusting anything. If there are problems the first time around, then adjust the second time around. :)

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
EXCELLENT!!!!! I had to alter the amount; WAY TOO MANY SERVINGS unless you are feeding an ARMY. I divided the recipe by 4 and made what I needed to frost cupcakes. My Belgian husband was licking the bowl, spoon, etc. Yum Yum!!!! BTW: MAKE SURE YOU SIFT THE SUGAR AND THE COCOA AT LEAST ONE TIME; SIFTING TWICE WILL GIVE YOU A SMOOTHER TASTING FROSTING.

Apple Crisp II

Very simple and tasty when you want something sweet. I used apples that were soft; not too fresh. Whipped cream or ice cream on top is a great addition.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
These were great to make. Easy and tasty. I used only nutmeg because my family does not like cinnamon. PAY ATTENTION TO THE COOKING TIME. My first 6 donuts were a little too dark and crunchy, but still ok to eat. They fry very quick!! Once I got the frying time down, they were perfect. I powdered them with powdered sugar; YUMMY!
