I really enjoy using cooking as one of my creative outlets; the fact that it also caters to my need to nurture folks is a bonus.
From the quick guerilla dinner (how can I make a meal out of 3 ingredients and a fridge full of condiments?), to the elaborate alfresco candlelight supper for my mom's birthday . . as long as I am flexing my cooking skills with a delicious (usually) outcome, I am pretty pleased.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make jam and preserves. . . except pickles . . did you know that those suckers take multiple days to make??!! I am just not all that patient.
My cooking triumphs
The dinner party I threw the year after high school with old friends. It was pretty hoity-toity for us, but delicious!
I also learned that day, that less is more when it comes to intensive cooking when your guests have arrived!
My cooking tragedies
The 'fajita incident'. It was mostly a social faux-pas, but it lingers in my thoughts from time to time!
