Peanut Butter Bars I

I really wanted to rate this a 5, but the chocolate top layer kept separating from the bottom layer which made cutting and serving this for a party a little tricky. I did use all natural pb. I wonder if that is the problem. I did step one in a food processer, which allowed me to freshly crumb the graham crackers first, and then add the remaining ingredients. The flavor was very good. Just the texture issue with the 2 layers separating.

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

These are a good healthy alternative to buttermilk pancakes made with white flour. However, the batter seemed very thick so I added a little more milk. They are not a fluffy pancake, which is why I didn't give them 5 stars.

My Country Style Steak

This was really great on a cold winter night. I had all of the ingredients on hand. I served over baked baby potatoes and used only 2 cube steaks totaling .75 lbs. It was just enough for my family of 4 (6 and 8 year old kids and parents). What a great way to stretch a small amount of meat. Came out very tender and flavorful.

Barbecued Round Steak

Absolutely outstanding. This is the best recipe I've found on allrecipes.com in quite awhile. 6 and 8 year olds loved it as well as the adults. I wouldn't change a thing. Even the leftovers were great!

Spinach Chicken Parmesan

Good, solid recipe, but not special enough to warrant a 5 rating. I'm pregnant and trying to get greens in my diet anywhere I can. 1 of my 2 kids happily ate it. Not sure if I will make again or not.

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Made this recipe for Thanksgiving. It was really, really sweet. I expected it to taste more like a traditional pumpkin pie, but it was more like a very sweet pumpkin and whipped cream pudding. I did refridgerate the bottom layer before adding the top layer and the layers stayed perfectly separated.

Baked Kale Chips

These were (surprisingly) delicious! 10 minutes was enough in my oven. Kids liked them. I used regular salt instead of seasoned salt. There was no bitterness at all. I'm pregnant, so this was a great way to get in a serving or two of dark leafy greens!

Peanut Butter Chews

I made these for a church event. The taste is best described as just sweet. Not as "peanutty" as I expected. Also, they were ugly. Not appetizing to look at. Fine to make with your kids if you are looking for something quick and easy, but definitely not for entertaining. And not a good choice if you have braces or dentures, as they were extremely chewy.

Rolled Flank Steak

Crazy good! Precook the bacon, and try with roasted red peppers. I also just used standard white mushrooms instead of crimini. I used Lawry's seasoning salt because I wasn't exactly sure what "steak seasoning" was. The recipe was incredible and beautiful.

The flavor was great. I used 2% evaporated milk and it worked just fine. My only complaint is that the crust was mushy. I wonder if precooking it a little would've helped.

Jalapeno Snacks

I can't rave enough about these. While they aren't the healthiest, they taste fantastic! I cooked mine on the grill and they were awesome. My husband, daughter and I also ate them cold out of the fridge the next day, and they were still good! Next time I'm going to try lower fat versions of the original and still see if the flavor stays true. My toothpicks kept breaking as I tried to stick them through, so I just wrapped the bacon tightly and didn't even use the toothpicks. I also soaked the peppers in water to kill the heat a bit, but next time I'm going to leave them as is to give them a little more bite!

Zucchini Pie

My whole family (5 and 7 year olds included) enjoyed this recipe! We used yellow crookneck squash instead of zucchini the last time we made this and you couldn't tell the difference. It's a great meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Zesty Feta and Shrimp Summer Pasta Salad

I made it exactly as listed and it just wasn't great. I like all of the ingredients, but the balsamic vinegar wasn't a great choice of "sauce". It made a really dry salad. Perhaps I should've tried the balsamic VINEGARETTE as others suggested.
