It is 7pm, and snow softly falls from the long-darkened Alaskan sky, dancing through the porch light to land on the deck where I am hard at work evicting it. Down a flight of stairs, Lee ducks and weaves through snow-capped cars, waging epic snow wars against his littlest nephew and the two… MORE

About Me
I'm a nerdy gal from the frozen wastes. I work in a hospital laboratory and am slowly overcoming long term illness through diet change.
My favorite things to cook
Salmon. There is nothing else.
My cooking triumphs
Not two feet in the front door after the week's shopping trip, my fiance looks at me of a sudden and says, "I want garlic bread. Can you make garlic bread?" Can I make garlic bread? Of course I can. In a spark of what I thought at the time was madness, I melted butter and grated garlic onto whole grain rice hamburger buns and threw them under the broiler- not expecting them to turn out but at least appease the other half, and wouldn't you know... they were great!
My cooking tragedies
Made an entire pot of spaghetti sauce using my aunt-in-law's delicious recipe, did not realize until after it was finished that I had accidentally used Jalapeno Olives. I don't know why they even make such an abomination, but it ruined my spaghetti sauce.
