Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
I made this simply because I was looking for a use for some buttermilk that I needed to use. YUM! If you are hesitating to try this recipe, DON'T, you won't be sorry. Hubby wants it all the time now, only with a little maple flavor. Next time I will use 2 t vanilla and 1 t maple flavoring. Thank you for a great recipe.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
I was a little skeptical about the ingredients in this chili, but was pleasantly surprised with the end results. We have a christmas tradition of getting together(3 generations) and crafting christmas ornaments. I made this Chili and my favorite cornbread (yellow cake corn bread) recipe and both were a HUGE HIT! I didn't have mild green chiles, but medium hot chiles, so I left out the hot sauce figuring everyone could add their own. Other than that I followed this recipe exactly. You just can't improve on perfection. The spice was perfact for all. We served bland canned chili to the toddlers though. If you haven't tried this you need to and don't change a thing!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
YUM! I added shredded cheddar to the cream cheese as others had suggested. First try I used jalapenos. Today I made them with mild green chiles. Next time I will try making them with fat free cheeses and turkey bacon for my dieting friend. Thank you for a great recipe!

Shortcut Refried Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
This recipe is awesome. I am a bit of a salt aholic so I doubled the salt. After tasting this the first time I decided I wanted to have this on hand. I made a bulk batch, here it is: (9 cups of bean flour, 3 TBSP salt(I used 6), 3 TBSP ground cumin and 3 TBSP chili powder. Stir until well blended and store. Preparation instructions: place 1 1/2 cup bean flour and 3 1/4 cups of water into a medium sauce pan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook until thick about 15 minutes. When desired consistency remove from heat and add 1 cup salsa, stir and serve. Yield approx 3 cups. When I use this to make bean dip, I also chop up pickled jalapenos into it as well as a little of the jalapeno juice. Yummy! Thank you so much for this time saving, tasty recipe.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2005
Hubby made me promise to make this again. I have made baked parmesan chicken. 20 minutes before chicken is ready you spread it with a mayo and parm mixture. The seasonings in this recipe make it even tastier. I will use this topping on my baked chicken as well as tilapia. Thanks for the great recipe.

Kraut Bierocks

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
Great recipe! After reading reviews about the need for flour. I was on a quest to find the true amount needed. It takes exactly 5 1/2 c flour for perfect dough. Anyway. used my bread machine for the dough only. The only thing I changed was the butter instead of shortening. yummy. Also for those who don't buy powdered milk....dry coffee creamer is a great substitute. Thanks Kim for a great recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2005
I was making this in a small crockpot to take to our family christmas party. My grand daughter was having a birthday party that afternoon. One parent asked me if he could taste it. Then he had everyone sampling the dip. I am glad it wasn't my only donation to the party because there wasn't any left, but it was great to see everone enjoy it. I have made it again just for me and hubby!!
