Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2012
These beans are delicious! Much better than from a can with added fat. My family and I have been devouring them in breakfast burritos and lunch/dinner quesadillas. Very easy to make. I will add fewer onions and more peppers next time.

We didn't care for this. For some reason my peas didn't soften much. I even decided to cook it all night. Very bland too.

No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I made this primavera for my sister when she came to town. Delicious! I used yellow squash, peppers, green beans, asparagus and mushrooms, quartered. Not only was it very tasty and light, but it looked pretty. I served it with a spinach, feta, red onion salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Looking forward to making the dinner again.

Habanero Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I just made this jelly. It looks so pretty in the jars. I followed the recipe other than using yellow pepper and red pepper. We dipped toast into some after cooking it and it's delicious! I'm going to make turkey meatballs for a party and use this jelly as a glaze. I'll be making this every year to use up some of my habanero crop.

Slow-Cooked Habanero Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This chili is fire hot and delicious. I made it for a party and actually used it as a dip with tortillas. I didn't have turkey so use 93/7 fat beef. I added 2 fresh habenaros finely chopped and it was just the right hot for us and a hit at the party. It was the last dish to arrive and the first to disappear.

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
These bowls turned out perfect! My DH baked them and served them with chili at a guys football get-together. He saved me one and I filled it with smoked salmon chowder. Delicious! The top was lightly crispy and the inside was soft and yummy. We'll make these over and over.

I made these for my daughters graduation party. Everyone raved over them. The only change I made was that I used 1/2 small tub vegetable & chive cream cheese in addition to the block. YUM

I used fresh mushrooms and just 1 cup of sour cream. My family loved it! The leftovers were delicious too. We had so much that I froze some and found that it thawed and reheated fine. I will make this one again.
