Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I decided to make these for my sick friend who said she was craving chocolate. I followed the recipe exactly except for adding M&Ms instead of chocolate chips (I wanted them to be a little more colorful!). She said they were the "best cookies ever!" I took the leftovers to other friends, and they all loved them, too. I got 5 dozen cookies out of the recipe, and I cooked each batch for 8 minutes.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
These were so simple to make and very yummy! I got exactly 24 cookies out of the recipe. I baked them at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, and I whipped the butter for 10 minutes in my KitchenAid. The dough felt so airy and light before baking. For decorating, I used a simple glaze and multicolored sprinkles. To make the glaze: Mix 1.5 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon softened butter, 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (or almond) extract, and food coloring if desired. Once powdered sugar is moistened, mix on medium speed until glaze reaches desired consistency. Add more water, if needed.

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Yummy...this is not only a very filling meal but also a healthy one! I followed the recipe exactly except I used cooking spray instead of vegetable oil and doubled the crushed tomatoes. I made sure to use LEAN ground turkey because it's much lower in fat and calories than regular. It tastes even better as leftovers. It got a bit thick in the fridge, so I added a little water before reheating the next day. I'll definitely be making this again!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Very easy and delicious! I have been snowed in for a few days and wanted to make some soup. I followed the recipe for the most part, except I eyeballed most of the ingredients instead of measuring them out. I also used nonstick cooking spray instead of using butter (I don't like cooking with butter). I can't wait to eat all the leftovers! :)

Creamy Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
So yummy! I made this cake for my brother's birthday because coconut is his favorite, and it was a huge hit! Everyone in the family loved it. I followed the recipe exactly except for drizzling some melted semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 1/3 cup) on top of the cake before adding the whipped topping and coconut. My brothers loves Mounds candy cars (chocolate and coconut), so I thought the chocolate would be a nice touch. I used the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake, and I didn't wait for the cake to cool before doing so.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
After reading all the great reviews, I was very disappointed in how this glaze turned out. It was very thin and didn't taste good. I followed the recipe except for adding a little vanilla and extra powdered sugar (for some flavor and thickening). The next day, my cookies were soggy and not pretty. I ended up not being able to take them to my friends like planned. I'm not sure what went wrong.

Easy PHILLY OREO Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Wonderful! I followed the recipe exactly except I used a 9.5 inch springform pan (I didn't have a 9 inch pan), and I topped the cheesecake with chocolate ganache (recipe also from this website). People were shocked to discover it wasn't from a bakery because it was so good and looked so pretty. Will make again!

Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly except for drizzling melted semi-sweet chocolate over the top (I had some left over in the fridge that I wanted to use up). They were so simple to make and delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!
