My favorite things to cook
Muffins, desserts, slow cookers meals, and breads
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spending all day Sunday cooking enough yummy food to last through the entire week.
My cooking triumphs
My first whole chicken cooked to perfection in my slow cooker:)
My cooking tragedies
My first coffee cake; dark brown and crunchy on the outside, and liquid on the inside My first time baking candies; who knew the plastic spatula would melt inside the cooking chocolate and ruin the dish and the pot?!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
This was a very good recipe and I love that it doesn't use the traditional beef and bread crumbs. My boyfriend even ended up falling in love with this when he hates meatloaf! The only suggestion I would have is to substitute the hot sauce with BBQ sauce and to also add about 2 TBSP more liquid than the recipe calls for based off how my turned out a little too dry for my liking. All around a wonderful a recipe though and it now a new favorite!

Fluffy Cake Doughnuts
The taste of these donuts was wonderful, however the texture was not all that great. I found them to be very tough in the end and were much too dense even for cake donuts. If you make these I really would suggest being careful to only mix until the dry ingredients are wet and not anymore. Mixing until "well blended" will only make them hard and chewy.

Sloppy Joes II
This really is a five star recipe, but it needs a few adjustments. Instead of using the full amount of ketchup I cut out half a cup and replaced it with BBQ sauce. I also added a bit of sage and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. I followed the advice of other reviewers and doubled the entire liquid mixture, but it did turn out a little watery so I ended up needing to add 4 tablespoons of flour. Next time I try it on the stove top I don't think I'll double it again, but I do plan on using this recipe in the slow cooker so for that I'll double it again to keep it moist. This is a perfect base recipe, but taste it as you go and add/exchange ingredients to get it perfect for you and your family's tastes.
