French Bread

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
This is an incredible recipe. This review is coming from someone whos obsessed with french bread. Dont be fooled by the simple list of ingredients. Before I was a bread-maker, i always assumed that the yummier recipies were more complicated... which isnt the case. This tastes just like french bread should, and is much better than any storebought brand ive bought. I dont use the cornmeal, and i throw a handful of ice in the oven twice for a medium crispy crust. AMAZING. the biggest key is to make sure it rises till at least double in size, twice. it makes the texture perfect.

Green Chicken Enchilada

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
This is a great recipe. I use almost the same ingredients in my enchiladas, but i add about a half cup of salsa to the recipe. Here is a crock pot version of this recipe: mix salsa, enchilada sauce (another reviewer mentioned las palmas.. ill second that.. its delicious! each chile verde enchilada sauce tastes different. las palmas is one of the more flavorful ones). so mix salsa and sauce till combined. add chicken. cook on low for about 4 hours. shred chicken. keep on "keep warm" setting for 30-60 minutes.. this makes the flavor much stronger. when ready, follow the directions stated in the recipe. Thanks for sharing! VERY good recipe!!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
WOW!!! These are THE best sugar cookies that I have had in my life, and Ive tried lots of different recipes. This one tops them all! The only thing I changed is that I added 1/4 tsp almond extract, gives it that flavor that I love in sugar cookies. I will never make another recipe. Thank you so much for posting!!!

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
i thought these were delicious... my husband thought they were too eggy. i doubled the recipe, and added a tad more buttermilk than called for because as is, it was pretty thick. these pancakes had a similar taste to french toast actually, which i LOVE. but like i said, my husband was not a fan. neither is he a fan of french toast. mainly because of the "eggyness" but anyway. my daughter and i loved these. very fluffy, very tasty. i would have given it a 5 star if my husband would have liked them also. thanks for sharing this recipe! i will be making it again for my daughter and i for sure!

Oregano Cubed Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
these potatoes were delicious. i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because 2 TBS of lemon juice is a lot for just 2 potatoes. i used 4 potatoes and 1 TBS of lemon juice and it was still a little much. id use about 2 tsp next time. but this recipe was really good otherwise.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
OH MY GOODNESS!! SOOOO DELICIOUS! this is possibly the best apple crisp recipe i have ever tried. the only thing i changed was that i used 6 cups of apples (i used granny smith, they make some of the best apple desserts). the rest of the amounts, i kept the same. although i actually mixed the water, apples, and cinnamon together in a bowl so the cinnamon was spread out evenly, rather than sprinkling it on top like the recipe says to do. i also took the advice of another reviewer and cooked it at 400 degrees for 35 minutes and it was perfect. other than that i didnt do anything different. great recipe! i will definitely make this OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Thank you!!

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
YUMMMMY!! This is VERY good, and the closest recipe to authentic spanish rice that i have found. I changed a couple tings. The first thing i changed was advice from a reviewer, and that was to use beef broth instead of water. Secondly, I used half of a large onion (this was for a double recipe) and it still had plenty of flavor. I think a whole onion would really be too much. I will definitely be making this again!! Thank you john mac!

Stuffed Chicken Valentino

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
WOW! This recipe is everything its cracked up to be, and more! I have been nervous about trying internet recipes lately because every time ive made one they have been terrible. But this was amazing! I changed a couple things, nothing major. Instead of italian seasoning (i find that to be a pretty strong seasoning) i used dried basil. Instead of chives, i chopped up some green onion. I served it over angelhair pasta, and topped it with a simple parmesan alfredo sauce. We will be making this again for sure!. ps. the flatter you pound your chicken, the easier it rolls! so flatten it as much as you possibly can!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This is an amazing recipe. I was nervous about putting a large onion inside because nobody in my family likes onion, but I did it anyway and WOW! not oniony at all, but enhanced so much of the flavor! seasoning it and letting it sit overnight is crucial for the flavor. dont make this unless you can prepare it properly. its delicious. i followed the recipe 100% and was very happy with the results! will be making this one many more times for sure!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This recipe is delicious. Many people complain about the blandness, which can easily come from a basic recipe with just potatoes.. but in the description of this recipe, it states that it is pure potato, which I LOVE! However.. my husband doesnt care for the basic potato flavor.. so here is what I did: I pre-boiled 6 medium potatoes for about 5 minutes. I Heated the milk and the butter in a frying pan, then wisked in my flour, one tbsp at a time. I let that boil until it was slightly thickened. Then I added bits of sliced ham (DELICIOUS). I thinly sliced 2 potatoes, then poured 1/3 of the sauce. Then repeated to make 3 layers. Because I pre-boiled the potatoes, it cuts your cooking time by a great deal. I baked it at 350 for 30 minutes. It is delicious. This recipe is great the way it is, but is also great if you add a couple tiny things. Thanks so much to BUCHKO!! What a wonderful recipe!
