Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
This was great! Used the 2 cans of soup, sour cream, and milk but only 1/2 of the cream cheese. Use beef base and some extra seasonings with the juice of the mushrooms. Did sauté with pinions as I was browning the beef. Served with buttered bread and a salad and it was a very hearty meal. Will make this again and again I am sure.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
We enjoyed this classic cake! Just the recipe I was looking for. I added 1 Tbsp of vanilla extract and it turned out wonderful. I was planning on freezing a couple of the loaves but I don't think we will have a need!

Love this recipe! Husband has been eating all of the bread I have been making but he says this one is the most like his grandma's bread! Definitely a keeper!

Creamy Zucchini and Spinach Rigatoni

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
We enjoyed this recipe a lot. We used rainbow bow tie pasta and added some other seasonings due to our taste but this was a great recipe. Rich and creamy so not an every night meal but it was very good!

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
This is one of my favorite go-to recipes. I have everything on hand when one of the family has a taste for banana bread. I add some cinnamon and some nutmeg--I don't measure just add a bit. I also sprinkle the brown sugar on top. I usually add 3 bananas then taste the mix. If I need more banana flavor then I add a fourth. Great as banana muffins as well!

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
This is my go-to steak taco recipe. We use round steak and it doesn't matter if the steak marinates for an hour or overnight--the flavor is great every time! This is the one meal where I can be sure there won't be any leftovers. Love the flavor!

Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
I made this with chicken legs and did follow the advice of others: less ketchup, add soy sauce and garlic powder. I did use apple cider vinegar but will try it without it instead next time. I did also add dry mustard to the mix as well. I baked for 45 minutes at 400 degrees and did baste it once or twice. It was definitely a good meal.

Old-Fashioned Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
This is what I call Potato Soup! Added celery to the onion while cooking it. I made a double batch and it turned out great. Even better the next day. I used other seasonings because just didn't have the thyme and parsley handy. Let it cook for a good long time. It was a big hit with the kids even!

Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I just made this recipe and we love it! My girls did not like the plain old seed with just salt but these are a hit. I did double the sauce mix but I used too much butter. Next time I will stick with a little over the 2 Tbsp. I like things with a kick so I will have to add a bit more hot sauce for my tastes. My daughters said they reminded them of their Nonna's chex mix recipe. No matter what, these are now a favorite in our house! Thank you for posting them!

Ellen's Addictive Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
We tried this recipe with carne asada. We used cherry tomatoes from the garden which added such flavor. I used lime juice instead of lemon juice and it was fantastic!

Potato Squash Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
I was skeptical when I first looked at this recipe but with the abundance of yellow squash from my garden I needed something new. As I mixed it, I was still skeptical. When I started frying them, the smell was incredible! Even my hubby noticed it from the living room. After I tasted one, I did go back and add more seasonings~ones that my family enjoys to add a little kick to food. One thing I definitely recommend is adding cheddar cheese to the mix. My hubby dipped these in ranch dressing and I used horsey sauce. They are definitely going to be on our table again very soon! Thank youu for sharing this recipe Ann!
