I love to bake cakes, cookies, pies other desserts but love to cook all dishes as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was raised on meat and potatoes dishes but branched out when in high school introducing family to more variety and healthier eating. A long tradition is the fab green tomato relish I try to make every summer and give as gifts at Christmas, priceless. Colorado peach jam, sand plum jelly and wild chokecherry jam as well.
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to make great flaky light pie crusts! Trick-very lightly add tablespoon of iced water in a folding manner. Not too much not too little, then pack like a snowball.
My cooking tragedies
Leaving my cooking to do other things or getting distracted. Assuming others trying to help know how to really cook good too! An artist must concentrate on their masterpieces!
