Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
Made this cake yesterday and it's phenomenal!!! I'm not sure if I've EVER had better chocolate cake and I am a picky chocolate-cake gal. Followed almost everything w/ the exception of a few items because I use a fancy, very intricate bundt pan with a lot of detail and didn't want to chance a cake that was too gooey or slightly crispy (higher baking temp) for my ornate pan. Used only 1/2 c oil. Used only 1 cup MINI choco chips. And I baked it at 325 degrees for 55 minutes. It tured out beautifully and tasted truly terrific. I simply dusted w/ powdered sugar and added strawberries to the top. Everyone RAVED about this cake! I can't wait to make it again! Thanks Denise, great job!

Blueberry Cream Slushy

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
We really liked this one! Followed exactly but used a Mango/OJ blend from Simply Orange which is some of the best OJ out there. Also used Greek Vanilla Fat-free yogurt. This smoothie tastes like one you would pay $5 for -- terrific flavor, color too. As far as those who complained about "grit" from the berries, that's part of the homemade freshness (and charm) and my 5 and 2 year olds who are as picky as anyone loved it. This is a winner. Thanks GOLDILOCKS!

Oven Baked Chicken Teriyaki

Very good, a crowd pleaser! Easy. Perfect flavor, very moist chicken. Only used half the ginger and it was perfect. Really nice over brown or jasmine rice.

Sweet Potato Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
This is my family's favorite chili and I've made quite a few 5 star chilis from AllRecipes. I did not change a thing other 1) zapping my cut up sweet potatoes in the microwave for 60 seconds before throwing them in the crock pot and 2) adjusting my cooking time since crock pots are different and mine runs HOT. I cooked on high for just 4 hours and during the last hour, added my browned meat. Even better on day 2! Delicious, interesting, pretty. Also, because of the low bean content (ahem) this is not really a gas-inducing chili which is a thumbs up for us ;).

Ultimate Chocolate Dessert

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
WOW. I read the reviews and considering I won't attempt any dessert unless it receives a majority of rave reviews because I don't want to waste my time making something that's just okay, I am thoroughly impressed. Chef John knows his Pot de Creme. Followed recipe exactly. Used Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate. Tried first serving (husband and I split it) after 4.5 hours of set time. It was terrific and I thought it was set enough. Just ate a whole one on my own after it set in the fridge for 20 hours and it was the best Pot De Creme I've ever had, upscale restaurants and bakeries included! The consistency was dreamy - so pretty - and the flavor perfection. This was completely unadorned too, no whipped cream or garnish. Cannot wait to makes these for friends coming over for holiday wine and dessert next week! Thank you, Chef John!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Tried this tonight and was impressed! So easy as well. The only things I did differently: cut the butter in half and added paprika and garlic. So moist and flavorful. Everyone including the 3 1/2 year old loved this one.

Cinnamon-Peach Cottage Cheese Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
These were hit! The one complaint about texture and color -- he must have done something wrong because both were perfect. I used two peaches and my four eggs were smaller ones. The only thing I might do differently next time is add more cinnamon. These were great!
