Roasted Tomatillo and Garlic Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Loved the recipe. The only modification I made was adding a bit more jalapenos. I like my salsa spicy! I used this to add to a green chile I made. I want to make more to eat with tortilla chips.

Carrot and Fennel

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
Was surprisingly good. I used almond milk instead of heavy cream since I'm on a dairy free diet right now and coconut oil instead of olive oil. I also added some salt and pepper at the end. I could see this making a good soup.

Chicken Breasts with Lime Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Loved this recipe. I have made it twice. I mix in a little panko with regular bread crumbs for more crispyness. The first time making it I made a single chicken breast and cooked the chicken in the lime sauce for a few minutes because the chicken wasn't quite done and I actually liked it that way better, it gave it more lime flavor. The second time making it I wished there was more lime flavor and less butter.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Great recipe. I liked the combination of the white and red sauces. I didn't change anything in the recipe except for forgetting the salt but I added some at the end and it was still good.

Sesame Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
I read through some of the comments before making this and decided to add some garlic to the sauce. After boiling for a few minutes I decided to saute the beans in the sauce for a few minutes to soak up more of the sauce and I served it hot. I thought it turned out pretty good and would probably make this again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This recipe really needs to indicate how much creole seasoning to use. It's fine for using "to taste" for salt and pepper but for spices and seasonings I think it needs to be specific. I saw several reviews that mentioned this as well and a lot of them used too little. Well I went the opposite way and used too much. I made my own seasoning using a recipe I found on allrecipes which seems to have good flavor. I ended up just adding a ton of water to the dish and made it into a soup which helped. I didn't add mushrooms and I added a couple of extra jalapenos along with the seeds. It wasn't too spicy hot, just spicy. I actually thought it would be more hot since I added additional jalapenos and seeds. I also added some tomato paste like some of the others suggested.

Yakitori Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Great recipe. Instead of putting in the oven, I put my skewers on the grill. I used bamboo skewers soaked in water since I don't have metal ones.

Classic Vichyssoise

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
A very tasty soup. I enjoyed it warm. I would suggest fishing out the bay leaf before processing or eliminating it. Found unprocessed pieces in the soup while eating it.

I rolled it up in the lettuce and ate it like a burrito. Good stuff.
