Mac-N-Cheese Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
I made this just as the recipe read. I used whole wheat pizza dough, which I would opt for one more flavorful next time. Also, while it isn't anything surprising, velveeta isn't the most flavorful cheese either. I will make it again, but definitely up the ante next time around.

Unbelievably Awesome Barbeque Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
I thought this chicken had great flavor and texture. I used a coarse grain mustard. I will make it again using regular Dijon mustard- not to change flavor but appearance. It put my kids off. My son who loves chicken took a very small bite and said no thank you. My step daughter didn't care for it either and she is not picky. Still my husband and I liked it.

It was really easy. My husband commented it may be some of the best fish he ever ate! My step- son loved it too! Definitely will become a go to recipe.

Roasted Chicken Salad Bites

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
I was surprised I didn't care for this salad and neither did the rest of my family. I personally like grapes in my chicken salad. I think that was the hang up my husband had - he apparently does not. My daughter is a huge mandarin orange fan, which is one reason I was drawn to this recipe, yet she didn't like it. I think maybe it needed some more flavor. Maybe onion, celery, salt? I don't think I will try this one again.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
I made this recipe exactly as directions instructed. It has definite possibilities. I will make it again. However, I will definitely cut the oil way back. Half will be plenty. Next, I will use oyster crackers, because I think they will be easier to coat without breaking and also coat more evenly. I had a some crackers with loads of red pepper flakes and others with hardly any. Lastly, I think I will change one of the ranch packets to an italian packet, but not both. If those changes work they way I suspect, I will come back and give it 5 stars.

Overnight Refrigerator Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
I made this recipe exactly as specified, using almond milk and peach flavored greek yogurt. I personally didn't care for it. I think I was expecting more of a muesli texture. This had a much richer, almost slimy texture and the oatmeal was chewy in a stale-sort-of way. Maybe if I switched to a regular yogurt instead of a greek yogurt I would like it better, but I think I will look for a different recipe instead.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
Great mashed potato recipe. I haven't had the best luck with making mashed potatoes - so these will definitely be made again. BTW, I used peeled russet potatoes and they were great. I do want to try making with red potatoes to see if they are lighter in texture.

Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
It was my first time making country-style steak. In the end it had decent flavor. I believe the recipe itself is probably pretty great, but there are things to watch out for. 1. Watch out for the amount of oil. Use what is necessary to fry - don't measure according to recipe - it's way too much. I more than doubled the recipe and as a result more than doubled the oil. Major mistake. :) 2. Don't do what I did and double the gravy recipe as suggested IN the PAN that is in the oven. 3. Also, I needed a lot more thickening agent for the gravy - again maybe because I misunderstood, but think before cooking...

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
Very good banana bread. Easy to make. Baked very evenly and my husband loved it. He's going for seconds as I am writing! I personally wonder if I prefer a firmer texture and a little less sweet. It's a matter of preference.
