Fabulous Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2001
Very yummy. Tastes creamy as if it were made with whipping cream, instead it's no-fat yogurt! A total success at our last BBQ. I substituted a lot of Tracy's fruits (added bananas, raisins instead of cranberries, no celery, no nectarines, added grapes and strawberries), but it was just as delicious. Will definitely make this again. Thanks!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2002
Very quick and easy and extremely tasty. The ideal green bean casserole for a busy dinner with many guests. My experience though - having made it yesterday for 9 people (6 adults and 3 children) - is that it yields only 8 servings rather than the 10 servings. Or my guests were especially hungry! If I made it again I would probably calculate the ingredients a little more generously. Other than that: a certain winner. Even my mother-in-law asked for the recipe!

Salmon with Pineapple Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
Absolute winner! Easy to prepare and does not take a lot of time to make at all. I had to substitute the lime juice with lemon juice (just didn't have any lime juice in the pantry!), and also used tomatoes-on-the-vine instead of Roma tomatoes. Another change: My basil plant didn't yield 2 tablespoons anymore so I added crumbled dried basil leaves - worked very well. I loved the tart, refreshing result and served the salsa with rice. Thanks! will definitely make again!

Authentic Kicked-Up Syrian Hummus

Perfect hummus recipe! Everyone wanted the recipe after I served it at my New Year's Eve party. The roasted garlic makes this outstanding!

Baked Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2002
Easy and simple does it here. Quick to prepare and delicious taste. I didn't give it 5 stars (which it deserves for taste) because this recipe requires a full cup of melted butter - just a little bit to fattening for my personal preferences. But who is looking at that during the holidays anyway?! So - once a year: Yes! A regular on my dinner table: No.

Baked Beans I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
Sure, there are Baked Beans recipes out there that offer more complex flavors, but this one is perfect for spontaneous bbq's when I don't have to happen too many ingredients on hand and need to make do with what is in the pantry. It's still really good, quick and easy.

Zesty Southern Pasta and Bean Salad

Reviewed: May 6, 2002
I think this is a nice salad, however, I did not care for the cumin too much, thus the 3-star rating. My husband and I both felt that its taste was almost overpowering the other ingredients. I will probably try this again, but either without the cumin or with a lot less. My tip: Try to add a little at a time and see how you like it...

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2005
This recipe was ok but not outstanding. I'd describe it as an every-day meal. I used a lot of the suggestions of other reviewers and cut back on the salt, added sauteed onions and mushrooms, and thickened the sauce. But I felt that it was still missing some interest. I'm not sure if I'd make this again, but if I did, I'd probably experiment with adding wine or sour cream to give it more of a twist.
