About this Cook
There is only one thing I love more than cooking a great meal and that's eating it! Grilling, roasting, baking, stir frying...I like cooking everything. I also enjoy taking pictures in my spare time, so is my dream site.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake just about anything...especially cheesecake (who doesn't love a good cheesecake!).
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family with a lot of woman that love to cook. Recently, I moved across the country so we only see each other a couple of times a year. When we do see each other we gather all of the different recipes we want to try and cook up a storm. The last couple of years, we've celebrated New Years by making homemade appetizers, renting a couple of movies, and enjoying the night! Homemade food and family always equals FUN!
My cooking triumphs
I've been told that I make a mean meatloaf.
My cooking tragedies
A couple of years ago my mom and I decided to stray from our usual Christmas dinner of turkey, stuffing, potatoes and so on. We wanted to have a "fancy" meal. Our menu looked something like this... 1. Cranberry, goat cheese and pecan salad 2. Goat cheese and apricot stuffed chicken breasts 3. Squash soup 4. Pumpkin souffle Sounded great, but we failed to think of how it would all come together in the end. We ended up with a very orange mess of a meal! (but the salad was good)

Baked Mac and Cheese for One
I thought the worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, onion powder and mustard powder added a really unique flavour to the sauce. I don't normally like onion in my mac and cheese because I find it overpowers the dish, but the powder added just the right amount of flavour. I also didn't add as much milk as the recipe suggested. It turned out great! I would definitely make this again!

Dominican Style Oatmeal
This is my favorite Oatmeal recipe. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar and added dried cranberries. The tartness of the cranberries balanced the sweetness of the oatmeal nicely.

Chili Chicken
I made this as a sauce instead of a marinade. It was really good with some cut up boneless skinless chicken breasts, chopped onion, and red/yellow peppers.
