There is only one thing I love more than cooking a great meal and that's eating it! Grilling, roasting, baking, stir frying...I like cooking everything. I also enjoy taking pictures in my spare time, so allrecipes.com is my dream site.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake just about anything...especially cheesecake (who doesn't love a good cheesecake!).
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family with a lot of woman that love to cook. Recently, I moved across the country so we only see each other a couple of times a year. When we do see each other we gather all of the different recipes we want to try and cook up a storm. The last couple of years, we've celebrated New Years by making homemade appetizers, renting a couple of movies, and enjoying the night! Homemade food and family always equals FUN!
My cooking triumphs
I've been told that I make a mean meatloaf.
My cooking tragedies
A couple of years ago my mom and I decided to stray from our usual Christmas dinner of turkey, stuffing, potatoes and so on. We wanted to have a "fancy" meal. Our menu looked something like this...
1. Cranberry, goat cheese and pecan salad
2. Goat cheese and apricot stuffed chicken breasts
3. Squash soup
4. Pumpkin souffle
Sounded great, but we failed to think of how it would all come together in the end. We ended up with a very orange mess of a meal! (but the salad was good)
