Butternut Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
My husband hates squash, but loved this dish. My kids also gobbled it up. I didn't have any vanilla wafers, so I used graham crackers for the top instead and it still tasted great.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I made this pie for company one night because I wasn't in the mood for a crumble top pie. It was fantastic. It was the best apple pie recipe I have ever tried. I added a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to the apples for a little extra flavor. Fantastic!

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
These were fantastic! My kids gobbled them up and you really could use just about any kind of fruits, nuts, and seeds that you want to make it your own. Be sure to let them cool COMPLETELY before you cut them or they can fall apart. Once they are cooled and refrigerated they stay firm and help together nicely.

Grilled Apple and Swiss Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
yum! I used sliced swiss cheese rather than shredded because it's what I had on hand. It worked just fine and still tasted good, but shredded would have been better to really melt in with the apples. I also added a slice of ham to make the snadwiches a little heartier for dinner. My husband and kids devoured these!

Lemon Lush

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This was a little rich for me. I did not care very much for the crust, but it was overall pretty good. I might try it again with banana pudding and sliced bananas instead of lemon pudding.

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
good healthy treat! I also used applesauce instead of oil, added some diced pears, raisins, and cinnamon and nutmeg. I will probably add a bit of honey next time I make these to make them a little more like a dessert treat.

Jayme's Sweet Summer Berry Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
This was pretty good. Very easy for a quick way to use up fresh fruit before it goes bad. I did strawberries and pureed a banana into the cream mixture. My kids loved it!

Slow Drunk Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
The chicken was moist and tender, which was great. But I have to agree with some of the other reviews in that this recipe was a bit bland. I even added some oregano and it was still a little dull. It was a good dinner, but kind of lacked the wow factor.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
Overall, a good recipe. I will definitely cut the water in half next time. It was too runny. And I will toss the apples with the sugar mixture before baking. Some apples were a little sweet and others were too tart because they weren't covered evenly by sprinkling. I saw other people doubled the crust. That would be good, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
My husband LOVED this recipe! It was very good and pretty easy. I followed the recipe for the most part. The only change I made was substituting a steam fresh bag of mixed veggies for the carrots because I didn't have any carrots. will try with carrots next time. Very good and my kids gobbled it up too.

Halibut Supreme

We all really enjoyed this. It could have used a little more seasoning maybe, slightly bland. But overall very good and the fish was super moist and flakey.
