Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
Aaaah-mazing!! I've made bread maybe 6 times, and this is by far the best one yet! I made this recipe into two giant loaves, big enough for a hearty sandwich and baked them for exactly 25 minutes, brushed them with butter, and it's to die for. The wheat adds just the perfect texture to it, a slight crunch that adds so much to it. This will absolutely be my go-to recipe. Thanks for sharing!!

YUM! I used corn tortillas and a touch (maybe 1 TBS.) or barbecue sauce, and these were delish!

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

I thought this was pretty good....mostly tasted like soy sauce, though. I just felt like the sauce could've been more flavorful.

Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
YUM!! Tasted like the chicken and rice soup I get at my favorite casual restaurant. My whole family loved this soup, which doesn't usually happen!! It's a keeper!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I DO NOT understand all the rave reviews this cookie got! It was good - but no better than the Nestle Tollhouse recipe, maybe not even quite as good. It just didn't have the "WOW" factor that I was looking for, so I'll keep looking for a recipe till I find one that does.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I added extra vanilla and 1 tsp. almond and 1 cup of powdered sugar to this recipe . I also decreased the baking powder by 1/2 tsp. and popped them in the freezer between cutting out and baking so they would be thin and keep their shape. They turned out great and are a truly exceptional tasting cookie! I usually think sugar cookies are just okay, but seriously, these were delicious!!!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Very, very simple to make and tasted great. I have only used it once so far, which was my first time ever decorating sugar cookies, so I had no clue what I was doing! I wasn't sure what consistency to make it, how to apply it to the cookies, etc - so I just kept adding corn syrup little by little till I thought it would work, and apparently it did. Got rave reviews! Painted it on with a paint brush. Now I have more experience and pastry bags and tips, so I will try it again with some experience under my belt. Definitely tastier than royal icing!!

Didn't change a thing and it was awesome!! I like rotisserie chicken, but this is cheaper and just as good, and I like knowing how my food was prepared:-)!

Fast Chicken Soup Base

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Fast, easy, and so yummy! I add fresh ginger and whole garlic cloves and red pepper flakes to give it some heat. Now, if only I didn't have to pick that chicken apart...that grosses me out, but it's so worth it!

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Perfect for a great, basic chicken noodle soup. Tastes like what your Grandma would make, but it's super simple. I add extra garlic, fresh ginger, and red pepper flakes to the stock to give it some kick, and that really bumps it up to a 5 star rating for me. Also, I use the frozen egg noodles..mmmmm. Perfect on a cold day or if you feel like you're getting sick.

Pineapple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
This stuff is awesome!! I first tried it with canned pineapple and was disappointed because I couldn't taste the pineapple, but it was still a great banana bread. The second time I used fresh pineapple and WOW!! Added pecans, too and my whole family couldn't leave the stuff alone!! Awesome recipe!

Mini Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
These were really yummy!! I'm not even a pumpkin girl, but the rest of the family is, and I can't stay out of them! I made them as is with one small change - used freshkly grated ginger instead of powder, but I don't think I used enough, as I can't taste the ginger. Next time I'll either use more fresh, or run to the store for the ground stuff. I have a cookie scoop which kept the size pretty uniform, and these bake up very puffy and cake-like, sweet and sticky - perfect with a nice, strong cup of hot coffee! The batter was really loose, but I just popped it in the fridge and they were fine.:)
