Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Absolutely wonderful! Great mix of flavors and textures! Spinach is a pretty hearty leaf - you don't need to worry about it getting 'wilty' as others have said.

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I never knew mint could be so tasty in a dish! Excellent rolls accompanied by excellent sauces! I loved the advice of mixing 1 Tbsp of peanut butter with the 3 Tbsp Hoisin - heat it up and yummy!

Stir-Fried Mushrooms with Baby Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This turned out to be a very nice, light, tasty side dish. Browning the garlic really added flavor! Used chili paste in the sauce instead of an actual pepper as topping as some have recommended. Omitted the cornstarch mix in due to the sauce having a nice consistency already.

Bacon-Balsamic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
Excellent ingredients and excellent texture! The bacon is awesome mixed into this. The only thing I'd do differently the second time 'round is to omit the sugar and double the balsamic vinegar. I still can't figure out why'd you want to add sugar to this!

Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
I was expecting a surprising flavor here, but it ended up just tasting like warm peanut butter held in a tasteless jalapeno shell. Roasting made the peppers wilty, and the flavor and spunk just weren't there. Needs more spicing, ingredients, or something.

Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
This is a good basic pasta recipe. Add more ingredients to make it tasty. 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 c sliced green olives, 1 package sliced mushrooms (not canned), 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper. I also used egg noodles for the pasta because I just love the texture of them :)

Pepperoni Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
Absolutely incredible! My gosh are these tasty! Didn't change a darn thing in the recipe - it's perfect. The chicken broth cooks the mushrooms perfectly, so sauteeing the mushrooms before stuffing them (as noted in other reviews) is unnecessary.

Cheesy Kale Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
Absolutely incredibly awesome! Brewers Yeast is awesome on these! My baking times are 20 min - flip kale & rotate baking pans - 30 min - flip kale & rotate baking pans - then 20 min. I've made this recipe 4 times now and have the perfect baking times down :)

Quick Zesty Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
I've got to agree with one other reviewer - these are not really that tasty. I was looking for a memorable side dish with green beans - and, this is just not it. Couldn't really taste the Old Bay seasoning on the beans, either. Tried adding grated parmesan cheese, and that helped a wee bit.

Spinach Pastry Diamonds

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
Very easy to make, and it tastes awesome! So that no one struggles like I did, have everything prepped and ready for when the pastry dough thaws. Because when it really, really thaws - it becomes a sticky mess! Still eatable . . . just not pretty - lol.

Good ingredients, but there's no 'wow' factor to the taste. Easy to prepare.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
1st time I ever made lasagna AND had ricotta cheese! This recipe was great! I stuck to the recipe pretty true to word. 1) Yes, there's gonna be a lot of sauce leftover - serve your lasagna on top of a spread of sauce or use the sauce to dip french bread in! 2) Why doesn't anyone want to cook the noodles first?? My noodles did not turn out "soggy" as others have warned about cooking them first. 3) 1 1/2 hours of simmering the sauce - that's nothing. Go watch t.v., play Facebook. This is way better than having to wait overnight as others have suggested. The flavors are awesome as is. 4) A 9x13" pan was exactly what was needed for all the layering in the instructions. 5) One thing not mentioned in the original recipe, but I couldn't NOT do it . . . after you brown the beef with the onions and garlic . . . DRAIN the fat. 6) Ricotta cheese comes in 15 oz packages - good enough. 7) For pretty coloring - sprinkle the top of the lasagna before baking with some Marble Jack or Cheddar cheese.

Sweet and Mild Cooked Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Omitted the sugar as everyone else suggested. Did not peel tomatoes, and they made the salsa heartier. Added cilantro. Ended up only cooking it for 1 hour and 7 minutes over medium low temp as the liquid evaporated.

Black Olive Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
Wow. That was awful. It was so watery, I didn't even attempt to put olive oil in it. And, the flavor . . . I like olives, but this just did not taste good.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
These were absolutely awesome! Had a lot of mixture left after heaping it on all the jalapenos. Definitely, the larger the jalapenos the better. A pound and a half jalapenos might be sufficient to not let the mix go to waste and prevent excessive oozing when baking :) .

This is a great tasting, really easy to make, thick soup! When given the option of white or black pepper, I ended up using 1/2 tsp of each - turned out wonderful!

Mike's Mushroom Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
Very Yummy! Lots of mushrooms and onions, but all for the good! There is no need to saute the mushrooms beforehand as others have done. The onions and mushrooms cook well in the butter cheese mixture. The crust turns out nice and crusty, too! Good recipe!

Jalapeno Hummus

Yummy indeed! I used 1/3 cup of fresh jalapenos and 1 Tbsp of the Garbonzo juice to prevent dryness. What a wonderful spread!
