I recently moved to Marshall, NC from Jackson, GA to live with my Fiance. We're to be married on March 12, 2011. He adores my cooking nearly as much as he adores me... It's nothing for him to stop in the middle of a meal, lean over, kiss me and tell me how good it is. I LOVE IT... =)
My favorite things to cook
Traditional "southern" foods such as Fried Okra, Squash, and Green Tomatoes, Cornbread, Biscuits and Redeye Gravy. I also love to cook ANYTHING sweet... LOL

Pork Rib Stew with Sage Cornmeal Dumplings
This was excellent. I only had chicken bullion, and was missing some ingredients so I substituted garlic powder for garlic, rosemary instead of Thyme, and omitted the marjoram and bay leaves, it was Very tasty, I can't wait to make it with the proper ingredients I'll bet it's even better. I do believe the 1/2 cup of milk is a bit to much, i had to thicken my dumplings up so they would stick together when I dropped them in to boil, perhaps cut the milk and add a little at a time until you reach a good thick/well mixed consistency. .

Never Fail Pie Crust III
Loved this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, this was my first attempt at a 'from scratch' pie crust. I used it on a double crust Chicken Pot Pie, It turned out beautiful, it was flakey and melted in our mouths. I don't think that I would choose this for a 'sweet' pie but definately will be using it again for meat pies. I didn't have any plastic wrap so I stored the pieces all together in a tupperware container and they were just fine. I rolled them out on my counter top sprinkled in flour and folded them twice to transfer them to the pie plates and it worked beautifully for me. As I said this was my first attempt at a home made crust so I didn't flute the edges perfectly but it still came out of the oven looking pretty. I baked the pie at 450 for about 25 minutes I usually have to bake them for 35... so keep an eye on your pies, as this dough seemed to bake a little faster than normal.

Microwave Baked Apples
EXCELLENT! I was craving something sweet but due to recent health issues I can't have my normal chocolate fix, this was a wonderful substitute. Quick, easy, and DELICIOUS! I used Red Delicious apples which held up just fine in the microwave for me. Ended up having to make another batch because the family wanted some after smelling them! LOL
