Coconut Cream Pie IV

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This recipe did not work for me. It tasted good but did not set up. Maybe it was the meringue - had trouble getting that to the consistency it needed to be. Although it looked good, the pie actually got more liquidy after putting the meringue topping on. I'm rating it a 4 because the taste was good and it probably was my method. Will try again and come back and adjust rating.

Chunky Peach Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This is OK. I agree with another reviewer - too much gelatin. I guess you could try using less gelatin to see if that makes a difference. Overall, it will be used but I wouldn't make this again without making changes.

Lemon Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
This was very good. I did add more broth, increased butter to 4 T and added about 1/2 cup of wine to increase the amount of sauce. Kept the lemon juice and slices the same. I had to add a bit of corn starch to thicken. Very delicious!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
This is my new favorite salad! Like others, I cut the sugar to 1/4 cup. I used rice vinegar and I've made it with and without the sesame and poppy seeds.. I've made it with watermelon and feta cheese, strawberries and blueberries with blue cheese and walnuts and with peaches and blueberries with feta cheese and roasted pumpkin seeds. The combinations are almost endless. So easy and delicious and nutritious. Thank you for sharing!

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
As many reviewers have already stated, you may add or adjust seasonings and ingredients to your taste. However, the basis of this recipe is delicious! I had reservations about so much parsley but went ahead and used the amount listed in the recipe. I also added about 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning, 1/2 tsp fresh chopped rosemary, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper and omitted the oregano. Increased the amount of turkey to about 2-1/2 cups. I used 2 tablespoons of left over gravy and substituted 2 cups chicken broth in place of the water and chicken bouillon. I also increased the milk to about 3/4 cup. Left the amount of flour the same. I only had one pie crust and the amount seemed too much for a 10" pie plate so I used a 9 x 11 glass dish with one pie crust on top. Next time I might not leave it in on 425 for 15 minutes because the crust got a little too brown...but that's just my oven. That's why I love allrecipes.com....you have tried and true recipes and informative and creative reviews. Thank you to the original poster and to all the reviewers for sharing!

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
This is an outstanding recipe....so delicious with mouth-watering flavor. I followed the recipe exactly only adding 1/2 tsp of Penzeys Arizona Dreaming to the spices for the rub. I also followed a couple of other reviewers' tips by placing slices of fresh jalapeno pepper on top of the roast. I wrapped the roast in foil, placed in my slow cooker and cooked it all night. DELICIOUS! The roast fell apart and was very moist and tasty. I served with toppings of chopped tomatoes, chopped red onion, jarred verde salsa and chopped cilantro but it was delicious all by itself. Thanks for sharing - definitely a keeper!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
This recipe was delicious! I changed two things; I used buttermilk and panko bread crumbs. I also halved the ingredients because I was cooking for two people. Could have served 4 but we didn't let them go to waste! Served with a remoulade sauce and a horseradish cream sauce. Tasty! Thank you for sharing.

Cheddar Pecan Wafers

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
I was looking for this type of wafer for a last minute snack. Had all the ingredients and it came together easily and quickly. Didn't have 3 hours for them to sit in refrigerator so I stuck them in the freezer for 1 hour. Came out perfect. I also halved the recipe and added 1/4 tsp dried mustard and 1/4 tsp. garlic like another reviewer. Will definitely make these again!

Rachael's Superheated Cajun Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
This was a good recipe but I must say, I would cut down on the spices next time. I like hot and spicy but the older I get, the less it likes me. ): I thought the amount of salt would be over the top but it was perfect. Thank you for sharing!

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I'm sorry to say that I did not care for this recipe. It was too tomatoey for our taste. Maybe next time I'll leave out one of the tomato products, either the tomato sauce or more likely the paste.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

This is a delicious recipe. I made it exactly as written. Needed to kick up the spice for our personal taste but that was easily accomplished with Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This turned out great. I had a 3-1/2 lb sirloin roast that I seared on both sides in a little olive oil. I then seasoned all over with salt, pepper, and dried rosemary. I also spread about 1 tablespoon of bottled minced garlic on both sides. Used one can of cream of mushroom soup, half of a pkg of the dry onion soup mix, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of red wine. Sliced an onion and put in the bottom of the cooker before adding the roast. I cooked on high for 4 hours and then on low for 2 hours. It probably was done sooner but I kept turning it so both top and bottom would stay moist and not dry out. Very easy and my guests loved it! Thanks for the recipe.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Perfect! The best is you can control the amount of salt you want to add. I cut it down to 1/2 tsp of sea salt but that's just my preference. You could also make it more spicy if you wanted. Great recipe - thanks for sharing.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
These were absolutely out of this world. I made them the traditional method the night before and refrigerated them. They rose in spite of the refrigeration. I took them out the next morning and let them sit for 45 minutes. They didn't rise much more than they already had risen. My Mother said these were the best she'd ever eaten. I've always wanted to make homemade cinnamon rolls and I'm glad this is the recipe I selected to make - they turned out great. Thanks for sharing!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

I used a Honey Baked ham bone for my soup and this was a delicious, simple recipe. I also used chicken broth in place of all of the water. Will definitely be a keeper in my kitchen. Thanks for sharing.

Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet

Reviewed: May 29, 2014
This was a great recipe idea to jump start a chicken dish. Loved the flavors of the seasonings and ingredients. I added more liquid as in I used 1 cup of wine (instead of cooking wine) and the juice of 1/2 of a large lemon. Used a little corn starch in water to thicken the sauce and served over pasta. Great recipe and thanks for sharing!

Ryan's Reverse Popper Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
I don't know....this was just OK for me. I really wanted to love it - it sounded so good. Hate to be a downer to all the positive reviews but all I tasted was cream cheese and bacon. Not worth the effort to make again. So sorry - thanks for sharing.
