Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
I used a Honey Baked ham bone for my soup and this was a delicious, simple recipe. I also used chicken broth in place of all of the water. Will definitely be a keeper in my kitchen. Thanks for sharing.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
These were absolutely out of this world. I made them the traditional method the night before and refrigerated them. They rose in spite of the refrigeration. I took them out the next morning and let them sit for 45 minutes. They didn't rise much more than they already had risen. My Mother said these were the best she'd ever eaten. I've always wanted to make homemade cinnamon rolls and I'm glad this is the recipe I selected to make - they turned out great. Thanks for sharing!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This was just OK for me. I thought the artichoke mixture would give it an outstanding taste. But it just didn't do much for me. Maybe my "taster" was off this night.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Perfect! The best is you can control the amount of salt you want to add. I cut it down to 1/2 tsp of sea salt but that's just my preference. You could also make it more spicy if you wanted. Great recipe - thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This is very good and so easy. I followed the recipe exactly as written even down to using the recommended recipe for Taco Seasoning on this site. I had used it before to make tacos at home. This is definitely a keeper.

Original Irish Cream

This is wonderful! Very creamy - tastes yummy! I followed the recipe exactly as written. Update: I forgot that I did decrease the amount of Irish Whiskey to 1 cup. Very good recipe!

Popovers

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Maybe it was my method or maybe it's just that we don't care for this kind of bread. I used a 6 count muffin pan because that's all I had that was suitable. They came out of the pan beautifully and looked good. They just tasted really eggy and looked very "elastic" on the inside. This was my first attempt at making popovers so I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of taste. I would have thought something more moist and bread tasting. We did eat them with the Cinnamon Butter from this site but I probably won't make them again. Just our taste preference.

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This was good but tasted much more like an icing than butter. It would be good for cinnamon rolls. I think the sugar and honey were too overpowering of the butter.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This past Christmas is the third time I have made this eggnog. It is divine. I cut the recipe in half and leave out the rum so that it can be added to individual servings. This keeps quite a long time in the fridge since the eggs are cooked. Yesterday I used the remainder to make French toast - it was delicious!!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This recipe truly is foolproof if you use a themometer for the last cooking. I made this last night for my husband and I and it turned out GREAT! I was so nervous because this was my first standing rib roast and they ARE expensive. I followed the directions exactly as written. The 2nd time I turned the oven on, I timed it. I cooked it 30 mts and checked the temp. We like our meat on the medium side and the temp was at 143. I put it back in for another 10 mts and checked and the temp was 154 and I removed the roast from the oven. It was very tender and flavorful. This will become a tradition for us! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
I thought this recipe was great and it was so easy! Turned out very moist and flavorful. I made my own "dry onion soup" mix and used Sherry because that's what I had on hand (the real thing, not cooking Sherry). Served with roasted butternut squash and the Italian Kale from this site. Definitely will become part of my regular recipes.

Italian Kale

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This was my first time making kale. Not sure I cooked it long enough because it was a little too tough. But I will try it again. I adjusted vthe Balsamic Vinegar to 1 Tbl for my taste. Thanks for sharing.

Chunky Peach Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This is OK. I agree with another reviewer - too much gelatin. I guess you could try using less gelatin to see if that makes a difference. Overall, it will be used but I wouldn't make this again without making changes.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This turned out great. I had a 3-1/2 lb sirloin roast that I seared on both sides in a little olive oil. I then seasoned all over with salt, pepper, and dried rosemary. I also spread about 1 tablespoon of bottled minced garlic on both sides. Used one can of cream of mushroom soup, half of a pkg of the dry onion soup mix, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of red wine. Sliced an onion and put in the bottom of the cooker before adding the roast. I cooked on high for 4 hours and then on low for 2 hours. It probably was done sooner but I kept turning it so both top and bottom would stay moist and not dry out. Very easy and my guests loved it! Thanks for the recipe.

Coconut Cream Pie IV

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This recipe did not work for me. It tasted good but did not set up. Maybe it was the meringue - had trouble getting that to the consistency it needed to be. Although it looked good, the pie actually got more liquidy after putting the meringue topping on. I'm rating it a 4 because the taste was good and it probably was my method. Will try again and come back and adjust rating.

Horseradish Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This was a perfect sauce served with the Foolproof Rib Roast by SALSIEPIE from this site! The only change I made was to use light sour cream instead of non fat because that's what I had on hand. My sides were Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes by Margaret Mayhugh and creamed spinach. It was a perfect New Year's Eve dinner. Thanks to all of you that contribute to Allrecipes!

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

This is a delicious recipe. I made it exactly as written. Needed to kick up the spice for our personal taste but that was easily accomplished with Louisiana Hot Sauce.
