Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
Very yummy! I used Italian sweet sausage, ricotta instead of cottage cheese, mozzarella and parmesan in place of cheddar, and onion powder instead of fresh onion. I combined all of the ingredients with a bag of frozen diced potatoes and a few more spices (garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne) and baked it up. My kids liked it so much they said they would eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Yum! Used 3 sweet potatoes and half and half instead of milk. Baked in a 8x8 inch dish. Best sweet potato casserole recipe on allrecipes!

Spicy African Yam Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2013
My family really enjoyed this soup/stew! I added about a pound of beef stew meat while browning the onions and left out the garbanzo beans. I also left out the thyme and replaced it with 1/2 tsp. marjoram. Thyme can be a little overpowering for my taste buds. I used chunky peanut butter and I loved having the crunch of the peanuts throughout. I used medium salsa and it wasn't too spicy for the kids. I put a dash of cayenne pepper in my bowl to make it spicier.

Honey-Mustard Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 26, 2013
Loved this mac salad! Left out the green pepper and chopped up sweet pickles instead for using relish. My husband and I agreed that the only thing that was missing was a little acid. Next time I'm going to add a splash of cider vinegar or white wine vinegar.

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: May 15, 2013
It wasn't disgusting or anything, it just wasn't that good. I even tried adding oyster sauce like others suggested but it didn't fix the overall flaws with the dish.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
This was an okay dish. I needed to use up half a bag of stale tortilla chips, so this recipe was perfect for that. I don't know if I would specifically buy chips to crush them up for this, but if I had extra chips that needed to be used, I'd make it again. Three cups of tortilla chips was definitely too much. Next time I will use two cups of chips, or do like others recommended, and add a can of diced tomatoes.

Potato Chip Cookies VI

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
I remember loving these when I was a kid. But now that I'm an adult, they just don't have the same appeal. It's like putting chips on your school lunch sandwich...you remember it fondly, but now, you just prefer to eat your chips on the side. I substituted butter for shortening, but didn't change anything else. This recipe is a fun idea, but when the novelty wears off, you are left with just mediocre cookies. Sorry...

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 1, 2013
It's a little heavy on the ginger and garlic but all in all it's pretty good.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used 2 cups brown sugar, 3 cups of confectioners sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter. Much better than that marshmallow fluff junk.

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
I thought it turned out pretty good. It definitely needed more spices, we all thought it was a little bland. The texure was great though and it baked up beautifully. Like others mentioned, I too had extra filling. I put the extra filling in a ramekin and baked it along side the pie. I was able to "sample" the pie (without the crust) before Christmas dinner and no one was the wiser!

I like a really creamy oatmeal so I used 3 cups of milk and 1 cup of water. I left out the cashews. Very tasty!

Simple Carnitas

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
Instead of using water to braise the meat, I used about 3 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice. I used way less salt and cumin than it called for. Cut it back to about 2 tsp. of salt and 1 tsp. of cumin. I also omitted the whole black peppercorns and just used freshly ground black pepper to taste.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

I really liked this cake recipe. I was impressed that it stayed moist for days after I made it. I used to make "One Bowl Chocolate Cake III" because it was so highly rated and had over 1000 reviews, but this recipe is so much better! Sorry "Cake III" I have found a new go to chocolate cake recipe.

Chicken Tetrazzini I

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Marinated the chicken in italian seasonings and baked in in the oven for 30 min. at 350 degrees. Using only one Tbsp. of butter (not a 1/2 cup like the recipe calls for), I sauteed a some chopped onion, garlic, green bell pepper, and fresh sliced mushrooms. Omitted the second can of soup.
