About this Cook
I started cooking when I was 8 years old. My first masterpiece was scrambled eggs. I was always encouraged by my father to cook, mostly because he LOVES to eat. I grew up in a home where both parents worked, so I did alot of the cooking when I was younger, I never really had any family members that showed me how, just recipes and a desire to learn. Its something that just comes easy for me and I love to do it. I even entertained the idea of going to culinary school in Chicago, however, in the small town that I live in, that kind of degree will not get you to far. I am now a probation officer and just enjoy cooking for my friends and family. I have recently gotten married to my wonderful husband, who although he is picky, tries to eat everything that I cook. Cooking is a passion and a way for me to relax and express myself. Life is to short to eat bad food!!!!!
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian, I love to cook any kind of meat. My husband is a big meat eater!! Basically anything that sounds good at that moment is what I will cook!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. My mom's mother died when I was 6. She made her own homemade cranberry sauce. So every year since she has passed, my mom, sister and I make this cranberry sauce. It is a huge pain, however the memories and the taste are declicious!!!
My cooking triumphs
I made a homemade turtle cheesecake for my brother's school auction. It brought in 75 dollars to be donated towards the school. Something little, but it was an amazing feeling. And anytime someone compliments what I have made gives me a little triumph inside everytime.
My cooking tragedies
No tragedies really. But the same auction that I sold the one turtle cheesecake at, my brother carried in the plain one that I had made and dropped it in the parking lot. It was chaos for awhile, and I will admit, I wasn't to happy since it takes me almost 8 hours from start to finish to make one of the cheesecakes, but other than that, not to many to speak of.

Thai Pork with Peanut Sauce
This is very simple. Good recipes, however, maybe to much peanut butter??? Good with a rice and pork dish. Something different

Slider-Style Mini Burgers
These mini burgers are great!!! I wasn't sure about them at first, after reading some of the different reviews!! I made them for watching the AFC championship and maybe they were better because the COLTS won, however, they were delicious!!! Add pickle and mustard and they taste very similar to white castle burgers!!! YUMMY!!

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II
I make this appetizer around the holidays and they are usually gone instantly!!!! Even my picky brother will eat them!!! I usually broil them towards the end so the bacon can crisp up a bit!!!! Delicious!
