About this Cook
I like to cook, but I love to bake. My cairn terrier is my best friend and brings me daily joy. I like to find recipes with low sugar, as my husband is diabetic.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, pasta, sweet rolls
My favorite family cooking traditions
For Easter, we always have fresh polish sausage, sweet rolls & eggs for breakfast. Turkey, of course, for Thanksgiving; roast beef for Christmas.
My cooking tragedies
For my first meal as a new bride, I served undercooked (raw, really) chicken and runny mashed potatoes. Yet, he still stayed with me for 39 years so far!!!!!

Simple BBQ Ribs
The best ribs ever. Have had this recipe for quite a while and finally made it - now I will make it over and over. I made these for my husband as I generally am not a fan of ribs - I am now!! The only change was to add some extra bbq sauce, as we prefer lots of sauce. These were so tender they almost fell apart as I was removing from the baking dish.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
OUTSTANDING! If you are looking for an old-fashioned molasses cookie-here it is. I will make these again and again. The flavor is outstanding, easy to make and bake. I cannot give enough praise to this recipe.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
These are just what I was looking for. I did not flatten the cookies, just baked the balls. They flattened out some during baking, but not too much. Very good flavor-my husband says they are addicting. I like the texture of the oats, but still find the cookie to be quite moist. This recipe is a keeper.
