Football Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I did not care for this recipe. I made it exactly as stated and consider myself a good cook. We love to try new chili recipes but there was something off for us, I'm guessing the allspice.

Italian Sausage and Peppers with Penne

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I add some cream cheese or sour cream to the marinara to make a vodka sauce. This is a regular weekly recipe! I also like to use turkey italian sausage but I have to omit the onions for my picky eaters :)

I made this for a summer party and it was gone before we knew it. I added chopped avocados because we cannot get enough of avocados in the summer!

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
We picked out the chunks of cream cheese because they were just took much. If I make this again I'll melt the cream cheese and put a layer in between the bread.

Aloha Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I gave this 4 stars because I tweeked it a bit and they came out perfect! I used ground chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce, I grilled the pineapple slices and I used pepper jack cheese and turkey bacon. I'm making these for a 2nd time tonight and I can't wait! I'm going to pair this with a nice light salad and citrus vinaigrette.

Chile Rellenos

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I used some of the recommendantions from other reviews. I used poblano peppers instead of anaheim because we like our stuff spicy. I beat the egg white until fluffy then folded in the yolk and added to the batter. The coating came out so perfectly crunchy and light! I sat the chiles on some spanish vermicelli with salsa and put a dollop of sour cream on top of the chile. This was absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to make these again!

Best Mac 'N Cheese Ever!

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I gave this 4 stars because it does need to be tweeked slightly. I only use 2 eggs and omit the velveeta cheese on top. It's so cheesey as it is! This is our fav mac n cheese in my house now and I add things to it sometimes. The best is 1/2 lb of turkey bacon, cubed and microwaved then added to the mix before baking. I also like to add broccoli florets too.

Chow Mein with Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I've made this 3 times now and each time I tweek the ingredients. The last time I made it, it was spot on. I use teriyaki marinade to marinate the chicken and make twice the broth it calls for. I add mushrooms and carrots for more veggies. I won't use bok choy anymore (bok choy in sounthern indiana is way too expensive). I use a large head of cabbage instead and we think it adds much more flavor than the bok choy. I also just use thin whole wheat spaghetti noodles because we tried the organic ramen noodles and they weren't any better (and cost 3 times as much) than the spaghetti. I only gave 4 stars because I switched things up a bit to our taste but this is such a wonderful recipe and is now a once a week dinner in my house!
