Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
I LOVED these! They seriously are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had! I did not add walnuts, only because I don't like them. I added some cream of tartar as another review suggested to give the cookie a crinkly top (as opposed to a smooth flat top (cream of tartar does not change flavor!) and they came out so perfect! Just like the description says, gooey in middle, crispy on outside. The only thing I think I will do differently next time is add the salt or use salted butter and skip the salt. AWESOME recipe! Thanks!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
I made this both ways....I used the original recipe stated and the other way using the reviews to use 1c. brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar, 2tsp nutmeg, 1 cinnamon and 2 c.whole wheat flour, 1c. white flour. I have to say I preferred the one I made with all the changes, it added a rich flavor and tasted way better than the original recipe!~

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
YUM! I loved these! I followed a few suggestions, 4 eggs instead of 3, 1tsp baking soda and baking powder rather than just 2 of the soda, 2 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp all spice. I put them right on the baking sheet, no parchment paper or anything. A little flat? Yeah a little, but it's an oatmeal raisin cookie, I didn't want a cake like cookie anyways, they were delish!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Yum! We made just a few adjustments. We left out the bay leaf, added oregano, half a can of peas, half of a jalapeno (without seeds), 2 beef bouillon cubes, a 8 oz can of tomato sauce and a 14.5 oz can of garlic and basil diced tomatoes. It came out great! We will add the whole jalapeno next time as we like spicy!

These were just kind of "blah." Didn't seem as great as all the reviews.

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Yum! I loved these, super simple to make an quite tasty! I used whole wheat flour instead of regular and sugar-free strawberry preserves. I also threw in some wheat germ and flax seeds, they turned out wonderful and I will definitely make them again.

Thai Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
This was yummy! I took others suggestions and added my own veggies...onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. I can see why some thought it was bland without veggies, I added curry paste as well along with cayenne pepper and salt, and served it over long grain brown rice...yum!

Alissa's Vegetarian Lentil Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Very tasty! I am not a veg., but i don't eat meat that often because there are so many more healthy alternatives that taste delicious...like this recipe! Definitely cover with foil while cooking, I also cooked mine about 1.5 hours but I think I released too much water in the veggies when i was supposed to finely chop them, mine were more pureed. I also went with the suggestion to use indian spices instead of thyme and i loved it! I used curry, cumin, and indian pepper.

Irish Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
This was a quick & simple recipe. They did seem a bit more like snicker doodles than ginger snaps, but still tasty. I substituted 3/4c. whipped butter for the shortening, I didn't have ground ginger, so I used 1/2 tsp. nutmeg instead, and I also added 1/4c. water, which I think was really helpful. Definitely do NOT judge these cookies being done by the color, I suggest baking them 10 minutes tops, any longer and they will become hard.
