I love breakfast, and I love coffee and reading the paper. My favorite breakfast is either Eggs Benedict or Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs.  This is when I eat at a restaurant.  When I fix it for my wife and me, it is either Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese, and home made hashbrowns-(which I believe is in my recipe profile on allrecipes.com).  Of course I love my eggs wrapped in a tortilla with Sriracha sauce instead of salsa.  I have also tried the chili garlic sauce which is amazing too.  I want to try the Sambal Oelek sauce when I get brave enough.  All these sauces are available from Huy Fong Foods and are in your international foods section of your grocery.  Ask for Rooster sauce.
Let me know what your favorite breakfast is and make sure you check out my recipe for breakfast potatoes.
I wouldn't try pancakes with any of these sauces unless you are brave
Thanks and take care of each other

I'm not a big breakfast person. I would perfer not to eat until I've been up for several hours. Then I like anything that is high in protein. I can eat tuna for my first meal or over hard eggs with lettuce, tomatoes on sour dough bread. Hold the butter and mayo. I even like meatballs with sauce!

I make a Hash Brown Slow Cooker breakfast that is so yummy! You can find the recipe on my AR site. You just dump all the ingredients in the crockpot, set on low and go to bed. When you get up in the morning, it's ready. Great for when you have groups of people, like visiting relatives.

Hash Browns under sausage gravy with a veggie omlet and my wife's home made bread for toast and her homemade strawberry jam. Recently we've been adding smoothies to our breakfast.

Happy Saturday night ChefJohn, I love this Great breakfast burrito from a hole in the wall in Seal Beach,Ca.(Nicks). I had a spinach, mushroom,Swiss cheese omelet the other day at Ihop, really good! Their stuffed french toast had a bit of cinnamon with the cream filling in it and served w/strawberries. I Have to have coffee in the morning. granola, yogurt and fruit is another one that I like. Isn't breakfast for dinner terrific? I think so. The oven mushroom omelet on here is Really excellent! So easy and good for a crowd. Chile potatoes, eggs with salsa, oatmeal with bananas in it. Who can resist a nice stack of pancakes or French toast with maple syrup? Thank you for a great blog!

I am not a big breakfast eater, but I have had some potato pancakes that I really enjoyed. Steak and scrambled eggs with salsa, yummy; crepes are good too. The favourite thing that I make is french toast, with a little cinnamon and sugar and corn syrup.

I love breakfast foods...as a type II diabetic, most of them don't like me! I avoid toast with jelly and pancakes and oatmeal and potatoes, but I do need some carbs. I love an egg just about any way on a slice of thin toast or a breakfast burrito with veggies or a tuna melt and a bit of fruit on the side. On the other hand, I often *crave* biscuits and gravy or french toast or hashbrowns with my eggs!

Depends on the day and depends what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I go for the traditional trucker breakfast of homefries, bacon and a couple of eggs over easy along with the original Tobasco or Sriracha sauce and a couple of slices of a thick sliced sourdough toast. Sometimes it's the pancake or waffle route, maybe with the spin of tropical fruits and syrups perhaps some nuts...Or, if I'm wanting something that is filling, tasty and comforting, there is always oatmeal. Lots of ways to embellish this too but I am a lover of brown sugar & cinnamon. And, I prefer my hot cereals thick and not soupy and drowning in milk. Other days, a simple muffin or toasted bagel is all I need. BTW, another Oregonian here, but I think you knew that.

Well, not my favorite meal of the day - especially if full of greasy sausages, bacon, hash and fried anything! My family loves it though! I just cant do it. I prefer a good oatmeal with dried cranberries and some walnuts more than anything but occasionally.... the non traditional like leftover eggplant parm! I make it baked, un-breaded and use tofu. That has to be my all time favorite! Another is pizza - whole wheat with spinach, mushrooms, eggplant, tomatoes, onions and tofu with red sauce. THATS breakfast! :) Dont forget the crushed red pepper!

About Me
I have been a professional restaurant person for 30+ years. I started out as a dishwasher and worked my way up the ladder. No schooling except for hands on experience in locations around the USA. I am now starting my own business as a consultant and food writer.
My favorite things to cook
Everything-except baking and desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gravy, my side of the family is mostly French , so we love the sauces and gravies.
My cooking triumphs
Starting my own public access cooking show-"It's Only Food". Did 33 shows in 3 years as the chef and producer. It certainly opened up a lot of doors and paved the way for changing the way I look at food.
My cooking tragedies
Missing my family growing up and working 80 hour weeks, but I can say that it paid off. No regrets.
