I ama wife and mother of boys, no dainty picky eaters here! My husband and I enjoy cooking together and making things from Scratch whenever possible. The closer we can keep it to home the better. We make 95% of our grain products such as breads, tortillas, pitas, crusts. We process our own meats from the rawest stage we can get it without being livestock farmers. We are planning this spring to grow our own veggies fruits and herbs, along with exploring making our own cheeses. Don't get me wrong we are not eco-freaks just really curious on how all these things are made.

Tropical Grilled Pork Chops
the salsa was great and surprised me, i usually dont care for fruit on protein but even my 5 y/o liked the salsa, he thought he was getting to eat dessert with dinner. My husband gave some great advice for sides for this as i struggled to figure out what would pair with this, sweet potato fries, or a baked sweet potato, with a little butter. The salsa could get on the potatoes and you probably wouldnt mind.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese
oh my my my..... i made this last night for my house full of boys and they loved it!!! The only two things are thatthe time should be cut in halfso 30 minutes, and i added(about 1 tbsp of each) some seasoned salt, some ground mustard, and black pepper in a small container and mixed them together and sprinkled on top of each layer of noodles(so a tsp on each layer). Any self respecting southern woman who makes homemade mac'n'cheese from scratch knows that the flavor that cant be explained is ground mustard. But this takes like an hour less to make and the clean up is fool proof. Not like "Grandma's" but its something to be proud of.

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch
This is exactly what i was looking for. I however started to make the recipe and realized i had no shortening so I used a half cup of butter and added 1/4 cup sour cream. Three days later and still moist and yummy.
