Mom to 3 children under 7 and p/t flight attendant. I love to read and study the bible and volunteer at my church, Emmanuel Bible Church in Long Valley, NJ. GOD has blessed with a healthy and fulfilling life! I am a true foodie and can talk about GOD or food all day long :)
My favorite things to cook
Healthy and vegetarian are my favs! I am a runner and run one half marathon each April with some bible study friends. Beans, soups and salads are my best style.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I create my own style as I grew up eating traditional fat laden foods, but also ate fruit and veges.
My cooking triumphs
Creation of many different receipes using canned or fresh beans. I also love my crock pot and use it often.
My cooking tragedies
Dropping a beautiful quiche all over my oven when the aluminum pan folded due to the heaviness of the quiche ingredients. My oven still has remenents inside the glass door panel to remind me :(

Tomato Soup
read some reviews and left out worchestire and salt... added cream at the end and some fresh baby spinach for Creamy Tomato Florentine! Also used one can crushed and one can diced... Yummy and fast gluten free Meal!

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage
First time I have used Crock for c/b & cabbage dinner. I liked the beer taste and will use again. I used Yukon Gold potatoes and they were getting mushy after 5 hrs on high. I cut my own carrots in slices(thick) they needed to be scooped out with potatoes to remain flavorful and al dente. Meat seemed tough after 6 hrs on high. not sure what I did wrong. maybe cook meat longer on high? potatoes & carrots were very tasty! will try again

Slow Cooker Homemade Beans
i subbed 2 large cans of small white beans since i was short on time and needed dinner for many.... i mixed all ingred except beans in slo cooker and added canned beans 30 min before finish and wah la! done and delish in just 3 hrs!! used high cook mode on sauce for 3 hrs..... very happy with flavor and texture of beans!!
