VERY GOOD "BASIC IDEA" RECIPE....I have a bad habit of changing recipes up...but they always turn out great! I cooked my potatoes in chicken stock to add more flavor....I added corn instead of tomatoes (yuck)... I cooked my corn and beans in beef stock. Everything else was as listed, except for heavily seasoning my beef with seasoning i ALWAYS use on hamburger meat for a more bold taste. And of course...i added some Essence of Emril to my cooking veggies and topped off with a butt load of cheddar! YUM! Not bland like previous Shepherds pie recipes! OH...And please people !! Cook your onion in butter...not oil! it will taste O MUCH better!
