Bread Maker Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2014
I melted butter, added plenty of sugar and a little vanilla. After taking the donuts from the pan they got a good coating of this glazing. Recipe worked first time, great

Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2014
Almost exactly what I was looking for. Everybody liked it. Next time: double the bacon. I had aready increased the amount by 50%. And another thing: I used horrible sandwich Cheddar and it worked! I dried it out all day. Furthermore I used whipping cream. I will definitely try again

Canadian Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2014
Me, my Thai wife and our little girl, all liked this, so quite a triumph. I prepared using a bread machine, maybe next time I would add something a little spicier. We sliced them in half, put in some jam and ate.

Peasant Bread

Reviewed: May 18, 2014
Great, simple recipe. Like another couple of reviewers here, my bread collapsed, seriously although it was still eatable. I halved the amount of yeast and the problem disappeared. Too much yeast/too lttle salt makes the dough rise too quickly and then collapse.

Fougasse

Reviewed: May 5, 2014
Too much salt! I only put in half a tablespoon full and it was still salty. This rose ok for me, was still bubbling away after 90 minutes. However this was a great introduction to fougasse for me, will try again soon..

Fresh Mango Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
After cooking for nearly an hour the muffins are still really wet. 2 cups of flour and two mangoes next time. Kids judged it to be a little tart, so more sugar also

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I am still trying to find a recipe that doesn't make 'soft bread' (bread isn't soft). If you do like soft bread, this recipe is ok.

very good and simple. However I was using a rice I wasn't used to, I should have precooked it, it took 45 minutes.

Easy Vegetarian Pasta

I added an egg at the last minute and agree that more chili, maybe onion, makes this good recipe even better

Best Bircher Muesli

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
This is ok but I add some bran, and any chopped dried fruit (apricots, figs, apples...). I happen to have at hand, as well as crushed/chopped walnuts and/or almonds, brazil nuts.... Soy milk is a choice I guess. I make this about twice a year so I always have something available.

Peppernotter (Scandinavian Christmas Cookies)

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
I agree with Tina, this turned out rather bland. Living in Europe, I tend to double the dose of anything 'spicy', in american recipes (as I did for this one), 2 and a half cups of flour would be better, I agree. I also triple the garlic for American recipes.

Roasted Chestnuts

.. I 'forgot' to cut the chestnuts not long ago. They didn't explode. However, they were very difficult to shell. I cooked them in garlic butter. Lovely

Campbell's® Slow Cooker Hearty Beef and Bean Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
loved it. I made two portions and ate both in one go (probably because I waited so long for the meal! I doubles the chili as usual because most recipes are too bland, doubled the garlic as well. Not having any tomato soup i added ketchup made using a recipe found at allrecipes. Great!
