Mother of four, grandmother to eight, & six great grands! How the heck did that happen so fast???? (am only 64!) On disability for circulatory problems & renal disease. Am still addicted to looking at just about EVERY recipe I come across. Because of so many physical limits I can actually cook & bake very little. I will ALWAYS find a recipe to try.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies are my favorite followed by seasonal cakes & goodies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner is still the best meal of the year, though I can't put it together by myself any longer. Roasted turkey, tons of mashed potatoes (w/ gravy), Cranberry gel, bread stuffing, terrific fruit salad, green bean casserole & to top it off--PUMPKIN PIE with other assorted flavors. Boy am I hungury now!
My cooking triumphs
I make terrific Yule Log Cakes that I am very proud of. A Raspberry Torte, too. But what I seem most proud of was my Cranberry Fruit Salad I put together last Thanksgivg. Was a big hit.
My cooking tragedies
I don't have much luck baking breads or pies. Such a shame as I love both.
