Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
Yummy BETTY CROCKER recipe! I had no idea that published cookbook recipes were accepted. I have been making this for many years out of one of my first cookbooks that I got in the early '90s. I was very surprised that nothing is changed. Not even a little bit.

Asian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
I was unimpressed. It wasn't bad, but it seemed to be missing something. I wouldn't bother to make it again.

Cajun Catfish Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
Very good recipe. I haven't had anything quite like it before. I actually think that it would havbe been better with a different kind of fish though. Next time I am going to add other types of seafood too.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This recipe was not very good. I carefully measured the ingredients and I did not alter the recipe. I thought that it was very heavy and not very flavorful. I was very hungry and I could not wait to taste it when it finished cooking, but when I did, I was very disappointed. It is not something that I will bother to try to improve. The recipe that came with my machine was much better than this.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
Not Bad. I also omitted the tomato sauce. I only used one tablespoon of sugar and 4 cloves of garlic. I also used diced tomatoes and added a bit of dried celery powder and parsley. I also used curry paste instead of powder. I think that the flavor is better. Next time I will dice the onions instead of shredding them because I found it not to blend with the meat as well.

Buttermilk Pancakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Yummy taste! Very light and soft. Somewhat hard to flip and keep from burning. Maybe that is due to the high sugar content. I will try reducing the sugar next time. The batter was also too thin. I had to add 1/4 cup more flour. Next time I might make it a bit thicker. Overall the taste was great, but the recipe needs to be adjusted a bit.

Rich White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2006
Unimpressive. Dense and quite doughy. Maybe I will ferment the yeast and try again. The flavor really wasn't worth it.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
Excellent! I was really surprised because I am not a huge fan of buffalo wings. I did everything as directed except for adding more garlic to the sauce. Next time I may add more hot sauce to the sauce because we like things spicy. Also I didn't have the 60 - 90 minutes needed to refrigerate the wings, so I just put them in the freezer for a while. I didn't understand why no hot sauce brand was specified, so I just used Texas Pete because it's our favorite. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
Very good. I was surprised at how much I like them because Salmon cakes are not something that I usually enjoy because of the texture. These are definitely worth making.

Salmon Loaf

Excellent! Just like the individual salmon cakes without all of the hassle! I added dried onions and parsley for added flavor.

Vanilla Ice Cream IV

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2002
YUMMY! This will be the only recipe I will use for vanilla ice cream. It is very rich and creamy! When you scoop it out the ice cream clings to the spoon! I can't wait to try it with other flavors of pudding. I had to scale down the recipe to half and then only 3/4 of it would fit my cuisinart ice cream maker. I used one carton of egg beaters (2 eggs worth) instead of the fresh eggs and I still put in a whole teaspoon of vanilla. It was perfect!

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2002
Very good. I also reduced the ketchup to 1 cup and added more garlic. Tastes much better as leftovers the next day. My ten year old meat lover wasn't impressed though.

Very easy to prepare! Excellent flavor and texture! For the first time my chicken stayed moist and the coating stayed crunchy!

Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2002
Great! The easiest and tastiest dumpling recipe I could find. I can't cook, but this recipe is so easy that anyone can make it. The only change I made was to make smaller dumplings. Next time I will double the recipe.

Chicken Kabobs with Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2002
Good, but not the best. The sauce has a very strong peanut butter taste. It is like dipping the chicken into regular peanut butter, so if you aren't a fan of it don't bother. The smell isn't bad, but it is very strong and tends to linger in the house. I probably would make it again, but next time I will adjust the sauce for more flavor.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2002
YUMMY! I love this! I have made it a few times already. The leftovers are just as good if not better than the first time. I have tried it with more spices added and it was even better! I used Texas Pete Hot Sauce because we don't like the other brands as much. I think that might make a difference because it is milder and has a totally different flavor than the luisianna style. It is also good cooked with peppercinis or jalapenos, but be prepared for the heat. If it is too spicy just eat it with sour cream. Totally yummy!

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2002
YUMMY! I sprinkled the spices all over and studded the meat with about 5 cloves of garlic sliced. I didn't measure anything because we like things spicy. I also left out the chilies and it was still great! I will definitely make this again!
