Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2014
Super yummy! I made this recipe with 1.5 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of mint extract. SO yummy. It was a nice complement to the chocolaty goodness of this recipe.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Overall, these cookies have good flavor. The cookie dough wasn't easy to form around the peanut butter filling balls. And I ended up having too much peanut butter filling considering how crumbly the chocolate-peanut butter dough was.

Pumpkin Tea Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
Great recipe. Very moist. It had more of a citrus taste than a pumpkin taste, however, so if you're looking for a bread with a stronger pumpkin flavor, this may not be for you. Regardless, this is a very flavorful, soft, moist bread recipe.

Very Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
Excellent cookie recipe. Even a batch that was slightly over-browned tasted great, just a little crunchy. Otherwise, these cookies turned out WONDERFUL, soft, and chocolaty. I'm definitely keeping this one!

This recipe tastes pretty good. It's not amazing, but it's definitely not a bad recipe. I'm happy I tried something new with this recipe.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Excellent cookie recipe. The first time I made it, I loved it, so the second time I made it, I tried it with just semi-sweet chocolate morsels. It was wonderful. Better than any of the recipes on the back of the bags. Not too oily or crispy. Just soft enough. So yummy!

Creamy Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
The texture of this frosting was questionable. I didn't like the regular granulated sugar in it, because it made the frosting crunchy. I wish I'd tried powdered sugar. The frosting didn't really have much of a flavor, but it did have a waxy feel like one other comment stated. For flavor, I added a small box of orange jello mix and a couple extra tablespoons of evaporated milk. I did not understand why the butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla needed to be beaten/mixed for 8-10 minutes. This is excessive. It's not like I'm making a froth or whipping egg whites.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Excellent recipe. Although I didn't have any hot pepper sauce to use, I omitted it and the salmon cakes still tasted WONDERFUL! I don't eat much fish, but this recipe makes me want to eat it more often.

Alfredo Sauce

Awesome! Creamy and delicious. I did have to whisk it a bit to get it to be creamy and not too runny, but no biggie.

I loved this recipe! It is moist and yummy. It's hard to get homemade cornbread to be moist. This one was awesome!

Rich Chocolate Pumpkin Truffles

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This recipe was not to my liking at all. The version of this recipe that I found actually said to toast the almonds and it said that apple juice could be substituted for the coffee liqueur. With these adaptations, my opinion is this: 1. I could not taste the pumpkin; 2. the almonds were overpowering; and 3. the chocolate was definitely rich (not a compliment). This recipe should be called Rich Chocolate Almond Truffles. Just because there's pumpkin in it, that doesn't mean it should be in the name. The name as it is is misleading. I was really looking forward to having a pumpkin-tasting truffle, and this recipe let me down.

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
This recipe came out quite rich and thick, so, as the directions said, I added another 1-2 Tablespoons of boiling water. To tone down the rich cocoa flavor, I added about 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then for creaminess I added about 2 Tablespoons of butter flavored shortening. It turned out great! It was still a little runny, but not watery or thick, and the cocoa wasn't overpowering.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Pretty good at first, but overall, the eggplant taste was way too strong. I couldn't eat more than a single small serving for my meal. Had to toss the rest because my family doesn't like eggplant. Grr.

Super Easy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
Something seemed wrong to me with this recipe. I've not made doughnuts from scratch before, but the ratio of 2 Tbsp vinegar to 3/8 cup milk just sounds messed up to me. Then after I fried the doughnuts, before sprinkling with powdered sugar, I could taste the vinegar. This recipe just isn't up to par.
