Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
They were good - nothing spectacular. It was the first time using my new waffle maker.

Spaghetti With Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
I love this recipe! I've only made it twice. The first time, I tripled the recipe and simmered it for a few hours. I also added a pound of cooked crumbled beef. Yummy. The second time, I didn't have crushed tomatoes so I added another can of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato soup, and it was delicious.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I halved the recipe and baked it in a large loaf pan. It baked a little longer than the recipe called for (maybe 15 minutes?) and came out perfectly.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I make these constantly. I bake a dozen or so at a time, and freeze the others (uncooked) in balls on a baking sheet in the freezer. When they're frozen enough to handle (about an hour) I put them in freezer bags by the dozen. The frozen cookie dough always seem to bake better than the fresh cookie dough. I set them on the baking sheet while the oven is preheating, then bake them as directed - maybe a minute longer.

Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
My first attempt at scones- very successful! I made two batches. I froze the sticks of butter then grated it into the dry ingredients. In the first batch I added 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts and 1/8 cup of maple syrup to the dry ingredients (before the butter). For the second batch I added 1.5 cups blueberries after I added the butter. The blueberry batter was pretty wet but it baked up great.

Gyroll

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I made the individual calzones using refrigerated pie crust. The best part of this recipe is the delicious seasoning used for the meat. I used ground lamb for the recipe, but I think it would also make delicious seasoning for ground beef for tacos and other recipes. I also froze the extra (uncooked) calzones in the freezer on a baking sheet and have since put them right in the oven from the freezer. They baked up fine.

Cherry-Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I made using a bag of frozen sweet pitted cherries and a bag and a half of frozen blueberries. (Amounts were about equal to amounts of the fruits called for in recipe.) The pie was perfect - not too runny, very delicious, and beautiful.
